Crashing during startup
I have been looking forward to this new release of Unreal Tournament for a long time just like every one else.
I am having an issue with the game, I'm not able to get past the initial startup plash image. Once I click on the icon to start the game I get the splash screen and game returns me back to my desktop. I have provided below the last 25 lines of my launch. log file.
******* Launch. log file

listed below is the hardware configuration I'm currently running on, Please don laugh to hard I would hate to cause any problem for some in poor heath from laughing to hard.
Processor: AMD Athlon 2400+
Memory: 1Gig mem
video: Sapphire x1600 PRO Radeon (AGP - not PCI Express)
Motherboard: MSI K7N2 Delta L
As a side note: UT3 was working fine until I changed out the video to the X1600 from an FX5200.
This would conclude that the video card is the problem but not able to determine what the problem is so that I can correct it.
If I could get someone that might have an idea of the issue here would be greatly appreciated.

I was playing online last nite and about 20 mins into the game in a teamdeathmatch the game crashed and gave me a black screen... I had to reboot my computer and it was back to normal. Is this a bug? Has this happened to anyone else too? Ive run it fine all other times.
My system specs:
Processor: Core 2 duo 2.4Ghz
Memory: 2GB of ram
video: geforce 8800GTS 640mb

I have noticed after reading thru this thread, I noticed others were getting similar black screen that I got. One of the logs by GG-Xtreme showed had the same lines that I have saying:
Warning: USkeletalMeshComponent::InitArticulated : No PhysicsAsset defined for UTFrontEnd.TheWorld:PersistentLevel.UTCustomChar_P review_1.SkeletalMeshComponent_11 with skeletalmesh CH_IronGuard_Male.Mesh.SK_CH_IronGuard_MaleA
Does anyone know what that means?

By the way, errors are not justified by it being a beta, it is imperfect coding.
Beta does not imply buggy.

Problem:
The demo keeps minimising to the desktop. Clicking on its tab will restore the screen but after a second it drops back. This goes on for a few times, and then the game continues normally. However, if set to windowed mode it works fine.
Also, the graphics are set to 1680x1050, the menu is at this resolution but I don't think the game is. The video settings show 300x200 for video, and the graphics are very blocky.
My system settings are:
AMD 3000+ Single Core
1 GB DDR400 Ram (2x512)
Abit Kn8 Motherboard
Sapphire ATI x1300 with Catalyst 7.10 Drivers
Creative Soundblaster Live
I am also running a Dell widescreen at 1680x1050 resolution. This may be the problem, as I had the same issue with C&C3 until I reset the in-game resolution to 1680x1050.
Thanks

I have experienced some random crashing with no messages. Doesn't happen every time, but only SOMETIMES.
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 3600+(AM2)
BIOSTAR TF560 AM2+ VER. 1.0 with 08/01/2007 drivers
2GB G.Skill PC6400 DDR2
256MB ATI x1950 GT with 7.8 drivers, I just upgraded to 7.10 though and Haven't tried it.
Just throwing that out there, don't know if anyone else with a similar set up has experienced this.
