        Operating System: Windows XP
        Video Card: 512MB NIVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7950 GTX
        Video Driver Version: 6.14.0011.94422
        Display Resolution: 1440*900
        Processor: Intel ® Core™ Duo Processor T2600 (2.16 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)
        Memory: 2048MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024)
        HD: 120GB (7,200 rpm) SATA Hard Drive

        TextureDetail= Level3
        WorldDetail= Level3

        For the most part the game runs ultrasmooth (locked at 60 fps)

        The problem:

        When i start a new game (offline/online) the game hangs for the first 5-10 secs and is totally unplayable. Then it start to run smooth but somehow I keep getting random framedrops to 20-30 fps. It doesn't seem to have a pattern, it may be in heavy combat or not.

        Am I expecting to much from my laptop or is this maybe a driver issue?

          After approximately 1 minute in-game, it crushes to the Desktop informing me that the Video Card did not respond to the graphics accelerator, and thus has been restarted.
          I can get back into the game though it still happens all the time.

          I've updated the drivers and still...

          Any suggestions?

            From my research it is a driver issue with the nvidia memory but I cant find the cure and im not a witch doctor.

                      Any hope for those of us who can't even get the game to open? I still get BSOD after or before all the company splash screens (post #116) and I'll admit, it's frustrating just doing little .ini tweaks because I have to keep rebooting everytime as opposed to just crashing to my desktop.
                      Already tried all the suggested tweaks like noSound and shadersOnDemand =(

                        it gives me that when i hit the shut-down button myself before it reboots, tell me when that nerd finally breaks.

                          I have the same problem...

                          Quad Core 6600, 2GB ram and 8600gt 512mb and Vista home premium 32.

                          Also I'm experiencing very bad hitches even when the fps is over 60.

                          Wtf is causing these terrible hitches!? Its totally unplayable.

                          I tried on my friends pc. He has windows XP AMD athlon x2 3800+, Radeon 1600xt and 2gb ram.

                          He can play this game fine on medium and even HIGH! Why the **** can a Quad Core not run this at even low settings!

                          Serious optimization issues I am having...

                            Our systems are very different (mine is posted a bit above) but we seem to have the same problem with our gfx card underperforming somehow...

                              Audio bug :
                              bUseSounds must be disabled with Realtek AC'97, otherwise the game crashes at launch without giving data about the reason of the crash in the log.
