Spawning a pawn without a controller
07-04-2004, 08:33 PM
I am trying to spawn a pawn and i dont want a controller to take over. I just want it to stand there so i can possess it myself later.
Any ideas?

Make your own Pawn, but dont define a playercontroller? Beats me...

Actually, vehicles are sorta like this. They are Pawns, but they dont have a controller until someone comes up and gets in.
Even though pawns have a default controller, I dont think that when you spawn them in a level they will be controlled until something possesses them.
So just spawn an instance of your pawn class in the game. I would gather it would just stand there lookin all sweet.

I don't see the problem... just spawn the pawn, that's it! If your PlayerController is already in posession of another pawn, it won't automatically take posession of the new pawn.
