Fading mesh?

  • Fading mesh?

Anyone know how to make a mesh fade to disappear?

Basically, I have an xEmitter which spawns a player-model mesh every few seconds, which I then want to fade away. I tried to do this by making it transparent (which doesnt seem to work :S) and then turning the brightness down using a timer. This don't work, it just disappears after the max lifetime is reached (which is longer than the fading out time).

Anyone got any ideas on where I can go from there?

I'm not sure if you can do that with an xEmitter, but you can with a normal emitter: If you set 'UseParticleColor' to true the meshes will then use the Fading and ColorScale properties of the emitter, either of which can be used to fade out a mesh.
