    .Ukx or Static Mesh File?

I have a weapon in Maya as a skeletal mesh that exports to a .ukx file. I have made another skeletal mesh that will be added on to the weapon as an option. I have also made the attachment to the weapon as a static mesh, should I have this "attachment" as a .ukx or static mesh file?

If it has no animations, then static mesh is fine.

Has no animations right now but a projectile will be shooting out of this attachment...

If the mesh is to have any moving parts, it will need to be an animation mesh, otherwise static is fine, projectiles can be spawned from any point on your mesh by using Offset Vector.
