Has any one made a flashlight mod?

Hi I whant to know if any of you have made a mod where when you play a level you press a key then a light hits the ground in front of you and it can light a area that is dark. Can you show me the script of it?

No not that kind of flashight. It is the kind that gets put infront of camrea view when the player has the view to first person or 3rd person

The code is the same, the implementation is different. Program your own implementation.

And it will suck no matter what, since dynamic lighting is seriously weak on this engine.

In this case, you cant use a projector because projectors dont actually CREATE any light, which makes the flashlight pretty useless, lol. The end result is horrible, regardless.

Yeah, but they dont create light. You'll notice it most when you go into a very dark room, and your flashlight becomes useless. Trust me, I've worked many long hours trying to get our EE flashlight to not suck, and it never happened (which, consequently, is why EE has no flashlight). The combination dynamic light and projector is a fair idea in open spaces, but when you try to use it indoors, you really see its flaws.

especially when you see the difference in brightness when you shine it on smeshs and on terrain. The flashlight actually wasn't too bad on smeshs, just sucked on everything else, and forget about shining it on something that uses an alpha texture.

I used the combination of a dynamic light and projector, and I was fairly pleased with the results (but I was not expecting much) for YARM and Tango Down. To me the largest annoyance was limiting the length that the projector traced as it could easily give away your position by "shining" through walls. You could hack around this by performing additional traces at the corners, but why make the code any slower than it already is. Aside from that, it provided both light and a decent spot on the surface. Oh how I wish DarkMatch was possible via a mutator like in old UT....
