    Using default rigs: Need all bones?

    Searched a bit, didn't find exactly the answer I'm interested in.

    Basically, when using a default skeleton for a custom mesh, do you need all the bones to be assigned to vertecies? It makes sense that all the vertecies would need to be assigned, but bones? I tried doing a test with a mesh by just assigning my whole character to just the root bone, but got an error when trying to import the psk into Ued.

    So, do I need to really spend time using all the bones? If so, that's a problem because I really don't need to pony tail or tail bones on some of them...

    Any help appreciated.

    No, just rig to the bones you need. All of the female characters have the ponytail, but only three of them actually use it.
