Im new to the forums and and havent looked around yet so forgive me if this is already here.........Im wondering If there was a way to convert A team Fortress Map to ut2004, or if not if someone would build it for me, id greatly appreciate it.

I dont know how to do anything in unreal ed and the tutorials dont do help. Plus im sure the textures for the map arnt created for ut2004 yet and I dont know how to build them.
If someone could post a walkthrough on how to build a map id like that. by walkthrough i mean step by step how to make a map, ya know this button, than this button...cant seem to find that anywhere like the procedure in which they made their map....i wont spread it as my map and proabley wont spread it at all but I think a walkthrough would help MUCH more than those tuturiols...........

You will never find that tutorial. Most written tutorials are brief and not very detailed which is good (or bad?) and doesn't make stuff confusing. You have to find some stuff on your own...

Exporting/Importing textures wouldn't be a huge problem. Creating the whole map would be a bigger one.Comment

No most tut's are pure **** :|. I had to do a "scavanger" hunt to learn how to use UED3. (Spend lots of mindless hours tinkering with the **** program, just to make a box that I can now make in 5 seconds).Comment

i guess it was better to learn the unreal editor 2 before starting in unreal ed3. i used stinkys, or smellys, or slimys or w/e, but those were good tutorials for beginners. if you are still having major troubles with understanding the tutorials givin, then look at the dvd version of ut2k4 for the bonus disk tutorials. and if you dont have the dvd version, then go here and you can download them, and take online classes.

they dont only teach you just mapping, but almost anything that can be done with the unreal engine, like modeling, coding, and mapping. and they are video tutorials, so they are easy to follow along with.Comment

Yeah, I don't agree with just simply "importing" a map into Unreal. I reckon, if you want to make a remake, build from scratch, otherwise, I find that they just look and play s*it.

ok finnaly got this ******* figured out but know im want to make a "outside" level...how to I make the sky have clouds [possibley moving?] and have half of all the walls be an actual wall and the other half be transparent?
