    Noob: how make it a CTF map instead of DM

    Hello,

    I followed the 3d buzz tutorial and I know to create a map.
    But I want to make a CTF map...Anybody some good hints that this map will be recognized as a CTF map...or is there a tutorial?

    Um... change the prefix to CTF- and add two flags to it? :weird:

      Thats not really it at all, how misleading.

      You need to use the prefix ctf- on your map, and change the gamelevel info from default dm to ctf.
      Main Menu > View > Level Properties > xGame.xCTFGame .

        How was that misleading? That's exactly how you do it. Changing the default gametype only affects running it from the editor, and that's only IF you forget the prefix.

              I know about the prefix. But he's stated he's a n00b and he wants a tut.
              It's misleading cos You're saying all has t do is add 2 flags.
              He needs to consider botpathing, assault paths, defense scripts and a load of other things, as you well know.

                    Noob here again

                    So if I only want to use it for real players and not bots I only change the mapname or that settings described above If i want to do it nicely.

                    If I want to use bots too then I have to consider the rest
                    He needs to consider botpathing, assault paths, defense scripts and a load of other things, as you well know.

                    Or do I have to add for example those defense scripts??

                            on topic pls.... I saw my map was recognized as CTF.
                            I'm going to find out how to put the flags in then it has to go automatic right?? No special scripts needed if I use no bots...

                              NavigationPoint >> JumpDest >> JumpSpot >> GameObjective >> CTFBase >> xRealCTFBase >> xBlueFlagBase and xRedFlagBase. No pathnoding required with no bots.
