some Static meshes not visible in UnrealEd

    Hi,

Building a level. Placed Static meshes in a level. Built level. Meshes could use a bit of adjustment - nobody's perfect, right?

So upon going back into the editor I can't locate the mesh - its friends are fine, and show up quite nicely. The viewport is set to display static meshes, but they just have ceased to be displayed, selectable, etc in the editor.

The offending mesh is still visible in the game, but is just black.

Any Idea what causes this and are there any solutions to this problem? The Lighting engine still renders shadows for the missing meshes, but I can't select them - or even see them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the groups browser to see if it has somehow been added to its own hidden group - it'll give the effect you describe if the mesh is in a group that has been hidden.

I'd just found the Advanced-bHiddenEdGroup flag and was coming back to answer my own question - thanks.

there's a button on the lefthand side with an eye and a black cross over it. it will set all hidden objects to visible
