    Cutting out doorway question

Ive been practicing things a bit, and taught myself how to cut doorways by making a custom brush in the 2d editor. I got the brush the perfect size opening for the static mesh I was trying. I just have a minor annoyance. While I cut the doorway perfectly within the mesh, when I actually subtract it, there is a slight lip still showing.

I realize that this is more noticable due to the fact that the textures are higly contrasted. I'm just wondering, when you cut out doors, do you cut right on the mesh line, or do you cut a tad bigger to compensate for minor annoyances like this. (Though its a major one to me)

You can see what I mean in the perspective view.

    Heres a pic:

    Thanks!

    More stupid questions to come!!!

i always cut the hole bigger, because that way you get the benefit of the door frame mesh on both sides.and it looks better generally.

OK, thank you very much, I'll do the same then. That lip was really bugging me.

      Thanks!

You can always tweak it later by editing the verts on the cut-out..

Dicky B, so don't worry, subtract away.
