Problem with custom vehicles on map

I'm bad at this but i'm trying to switch some vehicles on maps i have

i found a map with very cool Cartoon Vehicles VCTF-{HOG}ToonCountry
i open it in UnrealEd to load those vehicles and place it in another map
    VCTF-XtremeBridge2

i see those vehicles but when i'm hosting a game on vctf-xtremebridge2 my friend is missing something, he can't connect - he has the exact same version as i do and has both maps - should i place something else from toon country map on xtremebridge map?

as i told i'm very bad at this yet i'll appreciate any help.

Unlike the lynx, the resources for those vehicles weren't embedded in the map. You need the files from ONS-TWMushroomForest.

      1. i took vehicles from this map (ONS-TWMushroomForest)
      2. replaced vehicles in my map for cartoon ones and saved
      3. sent new map to my friend (he also has ONS-TWMushroomForest)
      ---------------
      4. Still can't play - when he tries to join my game he downloads a map file (vctf-xtreme bridge 2.ut2) reaaaally slow

It might be calling a resource from that map for some reason. Are there spaces in the file name? You can't have them because it won't redirect properly.

I just confirmed that the toon vehicle files were the only extra ones you needed.

I assume you are hosting the server on your PC. Because you have custom stuff that he doesn't have, you need to send both the map and the ONSToonVehicles files to him or he will (very) slowly download them from your PC. Those files also have to match EXACTLY. Even if you just open the map and change the text in the map description, it won't match anymore. Or if he has an old version of the map that you sent him and hasn't updated to your version. You should also add ONSToonVehicles to the server packages list in your UT2004.ini.

                ServerPackages=ONSToonVehicles

                  we're using lan to play
                  yes i'm the host

but he has every single file that i do, including:
                  ONSToonVehicles.u
                  ToonVehicleTx.utx
                  ToonVehicles.ukx
                  ToonVehiclesDead.usx

                  i've already got
ServerPackages=ONSToonVehicles in my both UT2004.ini and UT2004_64Bit.ini(in the correct section )

the names are the same, files are the same

From my experience this happens when the version on the redirect is capitalized differently or just doesn't exist (downloaded from the server PC instead.) Even though you're apparently not using a redirect, double check that the file is exactly the same and capitalized the same on both pcs. If it's still downloading slowly, make a note of the capitalization on the server connection screen, and post any error messages you might have.
