    Making a neon light ?

    I've been having trouble with this and was wondering if anyone has made one before ? I've been told you can make it looks like its pulsating / illuminating like a neon light with particle effects and stuff but am not sure and am stuck on what to do.

    Simplest way to acheive the neon light look would be to make a texture sequence that switches to a 'turned off' texture every so often (like 8 secs on, .25 off, .25 on, .25 off etc.)

    Then set that material sequence up in a self-illuminating shader. This shader could be applied to a flat surface or to a static mesh, depending on your plans for the style of the neon light.
