Importing a static mesh from .ut2

Is it possible to import a static mesh from a downloaded map? If so how.

Also where can you find the map files downloaded in game?

    Thanks

the maps you download from servers are in your cache folder you need this ut2004mi cache tool to install your cache look at the pic for config

You can do everything manually. Go to your UT2004/Cache folder. Open Cache.ini. Find your map, and search for something similar with the extension .usx. If there is an entry like that, find the file in your Cache folder that is named like in Cache.ini before the equals sign, and rename it to the name after the equals sign. Then copy it to your Static Mesh folder and you have it.
If there is no .usx file, then you have to do the same, but with a .ut2 file. Now to export a static mesh from there, open the map with UnrealEd, find your static mesh, open the Static Mesh browser, locate your Static Mesh there (it will be in MyLevel package) and then go to Edit -> Rename. Change the package name to whatever you want it to be, and it will be automatically moved to another package. Locate the Static Mesh again, then save the Static Mesh and it will be done.
