    Static Mesh duplication

    am I right in thinking that once a static mesh is placed in a map, there is no extra performance hit from duplicating a copy of it?

    Not entierly, the duplicate mesh will not use more memory but more polys will need to be rendered.

      The advantage of being able to reuse StaticMeshes in a level is that they will not take up as much space in memory allowing for ultimately more variety and/or complexity in the different meshes. Another way to increase the visual variety of your level is to alter the display sizes of StaticMeshes
