    DM-Obnubilation ~ In need of ideas...

    I recently started work on DM-Obnubilation, but I'm running out of ideas right now. Here are some screenshots of what I currently have, to give you an idea of the theme/athmosphere/...

    So that gives you a rough idea of the map. I'm going for a nature-is-taking-over-an-old-building-theme, by the way...

    Brings DM-Rankin to my mind, you should try to make it look a tad more like Rankin (like filling the empty spots with Rankin-like things) IMO... The brick texture does look a tad cartoonish IMO... Try the same brick texture as in Rankin.

      Well don't go copying too much. Lot's of people won't download it if they've seen the theme too many times before.

      Really so far it looks great. My only ideas would be to widen a few places. The room in the first shot look a little cramped, though it's hard to tell without much reference items/players. And is that a doorway on the second floor in that last pic or just a bright mesh? If it's a doorway, definately needs to be wider.

        Use the Hourences texture pack.

        It looks like you could really benefit from it.

          Thanks for the replies;

          The room you feared would be too small/cramped really isn't (I think), the dimension are 2560*3072, and 1024 high. (about 4 players can stand next to each other on 256UU, to give you a basic idea of the unit), and the doorway on the second floor (which by the way leads to the aforementioned room) is 384 wide, which isn't really small but making it bigger wouldn't hurt indeed.

          And I don't know about using rankin's brick texture, I tried that before in a map, and it really felt like a Rankin imitation, but I suppose I could look for another one...
