    That idea is awsome, it would make an excellent anti cheat.

    The only thing i can think of is it would also probably need to e for every player, because the aimbotter may not be winning.

      It is a good idea.

      An aimbot shoots at any other player/bot reguardless. So if you had an invisible bot that only shoot back if shot at and only if shot at by the player with highest score. Well this could work. An aimbot would shoot at this thing even when noone else does. This would be far less intrusive as antiTCC or any of the others.

      And cheaters are a reality. Why else would there be websites dedicated to cheating in UT? Our servers antiTCC have caught 13 aimbotters in the last 2 months. If you dont believe that some people do cheat then make your own standard DM server and use UTAN with antiTCC. If your server gets enough action the cheaters will come too. And yes some people are just that good. I know quite a few people who are that good. And the people I play with know the difference between good and aimbot.

        it only works if you can detect the bot. all current anti-cheat methods are designed to do this. Really you would need these to detect the bot AND this new one to implement the punishment. The new one alone will not work unless you can determine it high scorer is actually botting. Killing somone solely based one score makes no sense.

          prob already been said, but wont the cheater just code around it?

          eg his aimbot will be set to ignore any non-human player or the nearest player or some other property...

            Eh, it's probably not that easy. I doubt there's much difference between bots and humans as classes/other stuff goes.

              It is always possible for them to create an aimbot that ignores players within a certain distance. Mabey its possible. Also perhaps you you do that same be make it evenly distribute these little aimbot breakers all over the map thus even a system that lets you scroll through players would be ineffective and it would apply to everyone. Or mabey a Bot that constantly stays behind a character that is at close range. THis would probably cause an aimbot to malfunction if the character is constaly put behind the person. YOu would most likely get a really funky spinning affect.

                Like the old "dizzy" bug?

                Once I got stuck and just kept spinning around and around and around really fast. It was annoying and making me dizzy.

                      eh, the last post was nearly 3 years ago...

                      and with anti-aimbot thing... AntiTCC, ClanManager (and I think SafeGame) have such anti-Aimbot stuff already...
