    Anti-Aimbot Bot

What about a bot that follows around whoever has the highest score on a server?

The bot would be invincible, invisible, and would not collide with anything.

But if the person has an aimbot, the aimbot will keep aiming for it (since it'll be right next to the person).

And it's far less laggy than some other methods of anti-cheating =)

The person with the highest score doesn't always have an aimbot...some people are just that good

Well, then the really good person will have a non-interactive bot following them around doing absolutely nothing =P

The purpose is so that the bot never does anything to players (I'm not sure how UT code works, but maybe it wouldn't even show up on the player list if possible).

It could be 1 pixel big, and not collide with shots or anything. Nobody can see it either. But to aimbots, it's a player, and very close, so it'll automatically aim for it. To normal players, if it's not on the server list, they wouldn't even know it's there.

Just a suggestion. I have no coding skills or anything, so I wouldn't even begin to know how to impliment it =P

that's gotta be one of the best ideas i've heard of for anti-cheating purposes....hell if you ask Wormbo (the guy who makes AntiTCC) he might be able to do something like that, especially if it's just coding involved...

Well, if you make it like that, why not also assign such bots randomly to 50% of the players that do not have the highest score? There could be multiple players using aimbots, and if you're too consistent in assigning anti-aimbots to players, people might start making aimbots that circumvent it (aiming at the one-but closest player, for example)

If these kind of bots are assigned randomly, it'll be impossible for aimbots to compensate for them ^_^

Yep =) That would be even better!

But I'm not sure how much the overall ping of the server would go up per bot. If it isn't much, we could have little bots circling around every single player as an aimbot shield! =P

                  Useless reaction.
It is true, but someone with a bot will usually have the highest score ...
And if he top scorer isn't using a bot, he won't aim for the invisible follower so there won't be a problem for him, the bot will !

                  Great idea !!!

Although they'll (the botters) find a solution, like always.

Everything server side is the only solution, ant this will take some more years :sour:

Not if you use enough randomisation - then it becomes just about impossible to compensate...

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THOUSANDS OF ONLINE MATCHES AND HAVE NEVER SEEN A SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS ACTUALLY CHEATED IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER IN ANY UT200X GAME SINCE THE BEGINNING!!11 WHY CANT PEOPLE ACCEPT THE FACT THAT SOOO MANY PEOPLE ARE JUST REALLY GOOD???!!1

On a serious note, I know a 15 year old who gets at the very LEAST 2x the score of everyone else because he's simply that good...

I've never seen anyone cheat, but I've seen more people than I can count *accusing* good players of cheating, and making false accusations like, "He never dies" and such nonsense. It's a fact of FPS games that there will always be people who impress you with crazy scores and who seem impossible to beat.

...and there will always be n00bs accusing them of cheating, because they can't comprehend what it is that they do differently that gives them such a good score.

Yea, but I have seen aim botters, I have a demo on my Comp of a game we played, taken from his FP. VERY clearly an Aimbotter. Racking up Ultra Kills left and right with the assault rifle...

And I have seen someone cheated.

Speed hack. This man move 5 times faster then you normally do. He can move so fast, he can dodge mines without dodging.
It was in an assualt race also. So everytime we spawned, he would be there killing us with a mine layer. I killed him like 5 times. After a good hour, he left.

                            Well,

Make the bot invisible, no collision mesh. properties, and make it follow the player.

If the person does have an aimbot he will be aiming at a certain random spot at all times.

                            Thanks,
