    [Character] Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation

First request here. I was hoping someone talented could make Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation a playable character in UT2004. Now there is a model of him on the Steam workshop but I don't know how to make custom characters (I'd love to if I had easy-to-follow tutorials)

This is what he looks like in-game: (Linked for massive size) http://i.imgur.com/lLhzoM4.jpg

And this is what he looks like in Zero Punctuation

This is the workshop link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...earchtext=zero

The voice pack would also be very useful: http://www.moddb.com/addons/zero-pun...004-voice-pack

I could do him because he should be really easy, but if your interested in learning, I suggest Milkshape3D.
There is a video tutorial, and I do try to help if possible.
I am working on a few models this week, if you don't plan on model rigging then I could eventually get to it.

Here's another thing, I don't really know how to extract from Gary's Mod,
I wouldn't mind if someone could tell me how to get some of the models for Gmod into a format I could work on,
any chance you could download it and find someone who can extract if it's not in a format I could use?

All right, I'll look into it.

What format do you need exactly? I can extract the stuff from Gmod. Obj? 3DS?

I wanted the Slimer from gmod, but didnt know how to extract.
I use .obj file types for milkshape, and they also open in Blender.
Here, look at this link, tidel showed me how to use Milkshape.

Oh hey I remember that tutorial. I'll have to retry it and hopefully it goes well when I want to make characters.

Heres Yahtzee but he isn't cell-shaded though like in the preview. http://filesmelt.com/dl/Yahtzee.zip

I imagine its a tough thing to do to make him cell-shaded but its all good.

For "faked" cel shading in UT2004 try this sample/explanation

I can get the cell shading part, I think I will look at the model tonight.
It shouldn't take much to make this model work.

For this particular model it might be easier to just make your own version.....

Is this model a short character (like Yoda), or is he supposed to be a full sized character, like the rest of UT2004 characters?

He can be portrayed in different sizes usually but I think it would work better if he was full sized.

Ok, since this model seems really easy to work on, I decided to look at it tonight.
I have a working version for you to try with cell shader in color white.
                      http://www.mediafire.com/download/30...zeePGBeta1.zip

I want to post in the beta section and put team skins and maybe some other color skins with it.
                      He also needs a portrait.
I could maybe post another version tomorrow at some point.

If you try this out, let me know what colors would look good, and also does he look tall, his hat makes him look tall, but I could adjust to make him smalller (normal character size).
Does the body and the head look too far apart, I only used the original spacing the model came with, but it can be adjusted.

                      Edit: Updated Download Link

I just opened it up in the game and he appears to be invisible. Not sure what happened but I followed the instructions.

Edit: Checked it out in UnrealEd, model appears fine but I can't see his texture. And he doesn't seem to have a portrait.

                        Heres what I mean: http://i.imgur.com/Z0ega9Q.png

Other than that, he looks good!

I used a cell shader I was using in one of my maps, it had another resource, so I updated the link I posted above.
The zip file has the same name, but it has the cellshader.utx file in it.

Wow, I must say that I'm very impressed with this! He works now and looks pretty stable. Cell-shading is pretty good (Despite not being an outline but thats OK) although I kinda wish he had a portrait (Thats not a problem though)

I'd say its close to the Gmod model I posted: http://i.imgur.com/FhU9YFx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/v1plGX5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/BPvM3IV.jpg

                            Thanks man, you're the best!
