    Cubemap generating Actor?

I recently saw the FluidSurfaces-Tutorial (in the Video-Tutorials section) for the UDK.

At one point they used a special Actor that automatically created a cubemap texture from it's location in the map. I wonder if such a thing would also be possible in UT2k4, at least in a way that the Actor renders the cubemap to a ScriptedTexture like it's already done for security cameras.
The ScriptedTexture would be the one that is used on the surface in UnrealEd then. Maybe it doesn't even need to be a ScriptedTexture and a normal but empty cubemap texture could be filled at runtime.

That would make it much easier to set up realistic reflections…

VSOveride does something like this IIRC. (filefront)

Did you read the description of that thing? They just called the map file "cubemap" because it only consists of the VehicleAI-Actor in a cubic shaped builder brush.

Probably about 5 years ago. Just going off of memory. (hence IIRC)

Too many accounts in too many forums with too many open tabs in FF can't be good…

Sometimes I wake up in the night and can't remember if I didn't accidentally posted something in German here…

It's not possible. While you could render a 2D view to a ScriptedTexture, you cannot use ScriptedTextures in CubeMaps because it only supports Textures. (sibling class of ScriptedTexture)

Jade, he was talking about the post he edited, not about the topic!
