Using only Unreal 2004 modding. It's not a full game mod only a proof of concept for a full game idea. The birds are a spell effect. I'll post more pics if people care.

Unzip the ProjectX folder into your UT2004 folder.

Go to folder \UT2004\ProjectX\System\

RUNMOD.bat will launch the game.

This mod requires an Xbox (or similar) controller. If you don't have an Xbox Controller you will probably have to reconfigure the button layout in the ProjectXUser.ini file.

Xbox controller Windows driver (assuming you have a Xbox controller to USB converter cord):

Game controls:
Joy1=Horizontal Attack
Joy2=Vertical Attack
Joy3=Use Magic
Joy11=Block
Joy12=Center Camera

The thumb stick moves the player around. To attack in a direction using the thumb stick to you want to attack towards and press attack. Blocking + thumb stick direction executes an evasive maneuver.

Blue bar is magic
Red bar is health

This mod is just a proof of concept and not a full game in anyway. The only gameplay is kicking ***.

Requires at least an Athlon64 3200+ and a Geforce 6800GT to run well.

Castaa holy **** thats awesome! Um i assume you could make a tutorial on how to make the thirdperson camera, melee combat, and the hud/health. and i must say the idea of using a controller is fantastic, how did you do that?

You can find the 3rd person camera code in PlayerCalcView() in ProjectXPlayerController.uc

All the HUD code is in ProjectXHUD.uc

The melee combat is much more complex but most of the key code is in CheckForMeleeAttackTargets() in ProjectXPawn.uc
