    Vehicle Idea "Biotank"

    Here I go again with the crazy ideas.

    How about a tank with the main cannon replaced with an oversized biorifle. The main gun would have the same primary and secondary fires as the biorifle but the fully charged shot would be much bigger.

    When the vehicle's health gets low the tank holding the goo would start to leak further damaging the tank and leave a trail of sludgebehind it. Repairing with the link gun untill the health bar is yellow or green would patch the holes in the tank, stopping the leak.

    When destroyed it would spray sludge over the entire area like when you shot the bioammo boxes in the first UT with volitel ammo turned on(only on a larger scale).

    I kinda like the idea. I all ways loved the bio gun so i would like it.

            it would be cooler if instead you made the canon shoot out a spray of bio-chemicials, thats all everythying else you had work and when it explodes goo flies out everywhere!:up:

              Maybe instead of just shooting bio ammo out, you could have bio sludge contained within a missile. Then the secondary could be used for short range megasludge.

                I, uh... made a BioCannon for a tank. Not released, though. I put it on ice.

                It was... too hard to balance. And not really as spectacular as it sounds. Even a HUGE goo glob looks tiny and pathetic when viewed from 3rd person vehicle cam. **** hard to aim (NO splash damage unless you score a direct hit). Only useful to destroy static targets like nodes. It had to be beefed up quite a bit to look cool, and that would make it too damaging, taking out nodes in one or two shots. Too much goo globs mess up FPS (took about 50-100 globs on my system, I guesstimate). Probably not too good for netcode and AI/bot pathfinding either.

                And here's the new version, which is a spray. It automatically charges and fires the whole charge in one shot, producing a pattern not unlike as if you squirt a jet of water from your mouth:


                The other ideas about leaking and goo 'splodage sound pretty cool. I wouldn't mind giving those a try if you like. No guarantees, though!

                  Feel free to use any of the crazy ideas I have posted so far. I am full of them and don't have much experiance makeing things for UT.
