glad this thread didn't go off topic or anything

like the new node arrangement, new vehicles, but it needs custom music; I like the oriental theme, skybox, trees, architecture, bots, flow and general gameplay; this one is also wide-open and fun.

That is a real shame. We had so many complaints from people with mid-range machines that we had to pull it.

This is a great map, and plays well with large player numbers too.....as long as you have the machine to do it .....

Well there's no way to optimise this level with antiportals. Only through reducing the fog range or deleting some static meshes.
There will be no Sun Tzu 2.

    Some of his mistakes:

    1. He removed one of the two Mantas in the main base.
    - Manta is the fasters "ground" vehicle in onslaught and there are two nodes connected from the main base. So taking one Manta to one node and the other to second to achieve early domination is crucial in the beginning of the match.

    2. He replaced one Goliath with Paladin in the main base.
    - Wrong - Goliath is more powerful vehicle (besides it's two seated) and lowering the vehicle strength in the main base is not good. One of the things the maper should concern when placing vehicles is to give the weaker team a fair chance to defend and return to the game. This can be achieved by placing stronger/more vehicles in the main bases and putting less strong or fewer vehicles in the center of the map

    3. He placed two SPMA's instead of two Scorpions in the underground level.
    - WTF: What use are they in there? Their defense (secondary fire) abilities can be very useful in the main base and the node in the corner (closer to main base) of the map (OK he put one there), also conciderating the terrain structure. Secondly they are pretty quick vehicles, and here is another thing I have in mind when placing vehicles in the map. Overall vehicle speed should be bigger in main bases and closer nodes and overall slower vehicles in the middle of the map. So two SPMA in the center of the map in that enviroment = bnogood.

    5. He put a Cicada instead of the Raptor in the underground level.
    - Hm. Cicada is twice as wide as the Raptor so getting out through the roof can be tricky

    4. He put a Cicada in the main base.
    - OK sometimes it's a good thing but the non ECE Ascendancy version had no flying vehicles in there because I want to avoid their use for capturing the first nodes too quickly. Two Raptors should do a fine work there (1). And Cicada should work instead the Raptor in the corner (closer to main base) node.

    5. He left the node (near the Leviathan node) unchanged.
    - I always felt that node is a bit too week so he should have add or replace one weaker vehicle with, for example, a Paladin.

    6. He failed to see and fix some minor bugs in there (missing one mesh and some bot pathing issues).

So almost all changes he made was in my opinion wrong (and almost a random changes) and it can be seen that (his statement) he spent 5 minutes to do the work. And for what reason? Now there will be a zillion (j/k) Ascendancy ECE versions out there. And in
My opinion even two versions are too many.
Amazing isn't it ... some people just don't get that content development requires some real skill and carefully thought out planning (not to mention at least speaking to the author about what he thinks may be issues to consider with his original content). Well I knew it was a good idea to wait and now I am being rewarded ... well we all are actually. Thanks. Peace.

Great to hear. Will delete his version and add yours as soon as you have it released.

Anyways, let us know about Acendancy ECE if yer gonna make it(no doubt you will).
Well I can definitely agree with you on this.

Why didn't this insanely nice map even get an honorable mention in the MSUC ... was it just to late to enter? That's the only thing I can think of ... but you didn't have a non-ECE of this ready for the contest did you? Ahhh well there is always the next time and you did make it as a finalist for Perimeter. Peace.
