LMAO.....why is there still 56 k modems? This should be outlawed and only sold where cable is not offerred, like the deep jungles of trhe amazons or something.
If you will look at a map once in a while you will realize that while the majority of people live in cities, the majority of this country is not a city. My parents live in midwestern Michigan. About two miles out from town, but the nearest town that has cable is about 20 miles away. So there are tons of people that still need dial up. And sattelite is ridiculously expensive so until they nail down WISPs, alot of people will still be on dial up.

And in the mean time, cop a degrading whooping from all of us cable users! (At least, the skilled ones... what am I saying? Even an unskilled player can usually take down the average 56ker!)
Actually I used to play UT on dial up. I got good pings and played at the top of my personal game. The connection never made me play worse than I would have on a LAN.
i wanted to get broadband earlier this year - then i went back for another year of uni and my income was diverted to that.
as for my dial up - 33.6kbps on a 56k modem due to an old phone line. horay
still, i tryed UT2K4 online a couple of weeks ago, and it was surprisingly playable (at least for a little while). some severs were kinda jumpy, but others were pretty good.
i remeber trying to play jedi knight 2 online - so much lag it wasnt funny. well, actually it was, i played a CTF match, managed ot get in their base, take the flag, and return it! all the while moving at what seemed like 3 fps! i remeber running along, it lags and there are two enemies in running towards me, it lags again and they are both dead with oe of my guys stadnig over the top of them. had to laugh! not so funny when one moment your running along a bridge and the next your falling down a pit though....
hey I just played this in instant action, the level is just jaw droping, extremely cool. It boggles my mind with how big this level and how well it plays for its size. still laggy but all as maps are laggy anyways pretty much lol. I wanted to ask one thing tho,
pls make a mirror on nalicity available too, I like to link to nali city for my ownage page.
btw, very nice, leet map here. the best experience I've ever had playing assault drunk lol.
this level is amazing visually....i have never seen such a grand map. Its so gritty, high tech, and detailed..and so big. But my gripe was that the health on objects were a bit too high, and the defenders should be pushed back slightly on the first part. The lenght doesn't bother me that much but there seemed to be a bottleneck up to the part where u destroy the satellite.
the Battle of Celeste must have been something; huge file, custom music, bots suck (although not really all that bad since I tried it again this year); multiple paths, takes forever to complete objectives, needs a lot of players (12 default is good); great atmosphere; I like the smoke, rain, skybox, water, ruins, and lightning; repetitive but still fun!
