    ONS-ColdFusion][ Final

    NAME:
    ONS-ColdFusion][
    Version:
    1
    Compatibility:
    Unreal Tournament 2004
    Description:
Big map with enough vehicles, and lots of weapons. No learning curve to this one really as there is a link and an Avril at each weapons locker. There are various degrees of difficulty in finding the four superweapons though:
    Redeemer, slightly hidden
Two Bomber Painters, Not hidden really, but out of the way
One Ion Painter in a high risk open area
    COMMENTS:
This map surprised the heck out of me by winning the recent ONS mapping contest held at Unreal Playground!

    CREDITS:
I'd like to thank the Folks at Epic for developing unreal and all the people involved in it's creation
I'd also like to thank the guys who beta tested this map for me. SabbathCat, LordSimeon, SpottedTiger Bot_40 and AquaBlue
And last but not least, AngelMapper for her tutorials and Blitz for his help with teaching me terrain and his incredible bot pathing tutorial. Even thought the bots kinda suck in this map, but that's only cause I didn't have time to tweak it. See readme for a full longwinded story about that!

          what's 3wl?
And I don't know what a banner is either.
I followed the instructions to the letter, and have just reread the rules and can't see what is wrong. And I don't see please delete me anywhere.
I have a post subject, a message icon and all fields provided in the compose new message window were filled out. I'm a little confused as to what I missed, and I couldn't find any reference to banner in the forum sticky.

            Good looking map
            crappy node layout

Any time a power core has two nodes connecting to it, it's just a "who can spam better" fight. As a general (unwritten) rule, maps should not have more than one node connected to a core or the whole game just gets retarded.

Now that's the only real problem I can find with this. The map itself is pretty good. What I would do is just disconnect the upper left and right nodes from the cores. That would make it much better.

This map plays great! I've had some really fun matches on this one. Congrats Mango on the UnrealPlayground Onslaught Mapping trophy. Well deserved.

Thank you Kindness. It was a pleasant surprise to win the contest after having to scrap my initial entry due to collision problems. So even though I made this map in just a few days and with very little actual construction time, it benefitted from the time I spent on the other map. Only problem was, due to the extreme change of theme, I didn't have any real clear vision of how I wanted this one to look until a few hours before the deadline. (anyone who played the beta will attest to the utter blandness of it) And by then it was too late to do everything I started seeing for it. The map I was intending to enter is almost done, and is a MUCH better map than this one. I have time to configure some cool link setups and add all the eye candy that is possible with such a big terrain map. Only problem with that one is, now that there's no deadline, I may never release it! lol

I hope you all have as much fun playing it as I did participating in the contest.

I never imagined the word spam would be mentioned in relation to this map... lmao

                  That's a stupid rule.
I like it when things get varied a bit and there's two nodes connected. I get bored otherwise.

Well I didn't make it, but the general consensus I've gotten from people is that maps with two nodes connected to the power core is just too difficult. Don't shoot the messenger pal

Ever played one of those 40 minute Arctic Stronghold/Dria/Severance/Torlan/Red Planet matches where you just can't keep that last node alive long enough to do some serious damage to the core? That's what you get with only one node linking to the core. Give me the godlike flow of Dawn, with its two nodes per core.

I unfortunately didn't have time to come up with more than a few link setups.

I happen to like two nodes connected to the core, and I decided to take that concept one step further and make two seperate complete routes between cores. It spreads the action around the map rather than having just one or two hot spots. With this setup, any part of the map could see concentrated action at any given time throughout the game.

In fact I think most of my ONS maps now will be similar in layout, at least as far as having the bases located in each bottom corner. Some maps it's too confusing to read the radar map. But if you get lost on this one, you REALLY need help lol

Son of a gun! I never thought this would happen to one of my maps, (but of course you always hope... lol) it made featured map at Unreal Playground! Reviewed by Blitz here:

A fair review, and sums up pretty much exactly what I thought were the maps weak and strong points. But hey, what do you expect for a couple days work and only a couple weeks in the new editor!!!!

I had the pleasure of reviewing this map on Insite; it should be up soon, I think. ^_^

                              WEWT!

                              How'd I do? lol

Insite has a really tough schema. UP, NaliCity, UTMR and Insite are the only review sites whose opinions I trust.
