This map plays very well with bots set at adept. It's a bit too easy at the lower levels. Once you have the center, it's only a matter of time. Obviously this would be a great online map due to it's size and layout. Lots of nodes and vehicles, very nice, loads of fun. Definitely one to add to the play list.

Thanks for the feedback thus far. I appreciate your time and effort to both play and then post feedback in regards to this map. I will apply your feedback and suggestions to my future work (UT3). Much thanks to both of you!

Great work! Plays great in Instant Action. Lots of nodes in a good layout. Looks OK, nice texturing, but the thick brown fog is awful. Nice spread of vehicles. Cool interactive stuff, although the mobile defenses don't do all that much against the many flying vehicles.

In my ever so humble opinion this map would be twice as awesome at only half the size. It's too big to get around on foot, there's too much time spent traveling to the action, the architecture and terrain is all way oversized. I'm also not a huge fan of the rather non-challenging AVRiL+Shock+210 Link ammo at every node.

OK, I've tried the map, and I liked it a lot.

What I liked about the map:
None shall pass! - When securing one of the mountain interior nodes, I found a switch. I pressed it, and two garage doors closed off vehicle access between the central node and the node I had just secured. Now, that's something you don't see often enough of in ONS maps.
Cut the **** - Very few static meshes means a better ratio of map area to file size. The map is 5mb, but you get 11+ nodes with plenty of fighting space for that 5mb. This makes it custom-bred for servers, as players can easily download the map from the server if they don't have it.
Airborne carnage - Plenty of flying vehicles and enough vertical space to accomodate them all comfortably. Expect to have lots of breathing room when dogfighting. Or, if you're the adventurous type, lose your opponent by flying around in the interior mountain base.
No friends? No problem! - The map is well bot-pathed. I did find that attacking the powercore was a rather easy affair, but the bots were putting the pressure on in order to force a retreat, using the two-paths-from-Powercore to make mine just as vulnerable as theirs was.

What I disliked about the map:
Guns on stilts - I found the turrets on posts part a little disconcerting. A more solid base surely wouldn't have been that hard to put in.
Ho-hum - The environment was a little bland, to be honest. Might be due to the lack of static meshes like trees and that.

    EVALUATION:
This is a rather good map. Not perfect, but not a bad one either. Well worth downloading for all you ONS players out there, offline or online.

    Description / Back-story:

This Island is sucking the life out of me. Fighting on the beaches of this island saps my strength and diminishes my will to fight and survive. I lost a good friend down near the trench on the beach today - Ill miss him a lot. He won’t go on to fight another day. With all this fighting and with no end in sight, makes me wonder if it is all worth it. I’m picking myself back up off the beach again; I can feel the blood and sweat pouring off my brow. This sand wedged between my teeth sure leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
