    CTF-Forest Crypt

This is my first map. It took a long time for me to finish it because I kept putting it off. But it's done now and I want to show it off. Unfortunately it swept through the Nali City list before more than one comment (which was a 9/10). So here it is:

    Name: CTF- Forest Crypt
    Version: 1.00
    For UT2004
Summary: Buried 1,000 feet under the planet of gen Mo'kai.
    Player Count: 8-14
    File Size: 9.36 mb
    Nali City page: http://nalicity.beyondunreal.com/map_hub.php?mid=9245

It is made mostly with the Tokara platform static meshes. The map is totally underground with a pool of water at the bottom. Using the translocator makes moving around the level easier (along with a few jump pads).

I removed the trees and some particles, to increase the frame count, but I can put them back if requested.

and here are some larger pics (1280x1024)

It looks very nice from the screenshots, very good work.
But how powerful is your computer? What hardware do you have? I think most people have PCs that can't get lag in UT2004 no matter what they do.

Lags so old school with UT2004, cards have jump to the next level.

Well I confess that the computer that I was using was 2 years old (3 now). I've updated since. But the frame rates stayed fairly low. It must be because of the amount of platform meshes I put in the map and how they are aligned at certain views.
I also wish I could put a fluid surface as the water but that made it even worse. So this map is more gameplay friendly then the previous version that would have had extra, crammed eye candy.

Still if you want I can add the eye candy back into it.

More and larger/clearer screens that better show off the layout may get this level more downloads.

The rules post said something about a "[screenshot] tag to resize of the fly". Do you know how to use that. [screenshot]http://static.flickr.com/78/225593764_8522074f38_o.jpg[screenshot]
                    does not work.

Ahh now I can actually see what this map looks like. Thanks for taking the time to put up better screenshots and I will get to this map over the weekend and post my thoughts.

very nice map!! it's funny to jump from one way to another and so on^^ and you never no where the next enemy comes from

but, i think you should save the textures and the static meshes to the mylevel package, so u have only one mapfile and you don't need to put 5 files into different folders..

I would have, if they were my own custom packages. But they were made by others, Mr_Hyde and the team behind the Anomaly Racing mod. So I left them as seperate packages.
                          Thanks for the feedback

Try using (screenshot) URL (/screenshot). Replace the parens with the brackets. That ought to work.
