  • Project Nexus HaloUT CXP released

    Name: HaloUT Community Xtras Pack
    Version: Final 1.0
    Compatibility: req: UT2K4 patch 3355 & HaloUT P1.751 (1.7511 is optional)
Description: A collection of Halo themed maps, vehicle additions and upgrades, skins, voicepacks, and team symbols, created for HaloUT by some of the best and brightest from the HaloUT community and members of Project Torlan.
Comments: This is for our Community members and those who like HaloUT. If you don't like or agree with what we are doing please do not post negative comments here ... this is for our fans .. plain and simple. A Free Bonus collection of Great content led of course by Dace's glorious ONS-HUT-Nexus and anchored by robo22's awe-inspiring Oculus maps.
    Screenshot: See below
Credits: The HaloUT development community and Team Torlan (the numerous developers and community members are credited in the readmefirst file as well as on the last post I made on the Beta Release thread), Buffy for the pics as usual and Major Maedondias for the site hosting and Release assistance ... and of course 'The Usual Players' - MS, Bungie, Epic, Gearbox, and Atari

Also thanks to Outlaw for giving us permission to use his OutlawHaloSkybox package for the maps though we didn't need to use it so far as a seperate package. And if you want to use it just pm Outlaw as this is his work apart from HaloUT.

    Homepage: http://torlan.dragonstarelite.com/
Download: For now only this one but more will be forthcoming.

    * The download links have been replaced by these temp links which contain updated archives ... this will be edited again when these files are updated on our home site and more mirrors are added that carry the updated archives.

Additional comments: All authors are responsible for their own updates (if there are going to be any for any content in this pack) so when posting questions about specific content please keep that in mind and ask the author directly ... for example sometime next year I will update the HaloUT species mutator if you have any questions about that mutator direct them towards me.

Please Make sure you read the READMEFIRST file before you install this or ask any questions. Thanks.

When posting to this thread all I ask is of you is that you keep the topic completely on subject and not let the thread become ruined by issues that have nothing to do with the specific content in this CXP (i.e. issues involving developers who are no longer part of the project, team management concerns, team member conflict issues, Bungie questions, bascially anything that starts a flame war, etc.). I really would hate to see another thread closed ... especially this one since so many talented individuals worked on the CXP and would be more than happy to answer questions, take constructive suggestions and criticism, and of course receive praise for their efforts.

Woooooott!!! Its finally out! This combined with soma's multiple releases and it being the weekend make this a totally awesome day!!!

        dling

EDIT: For convenience, could you guys possibly put the files in folders designating where they go, such as "system", "maps", etc.
Not a problem for me, but might help people to install quicker.

EDIT2: Thanks for all the hard work Exodus and the HaloUT crew. I've been following this for a long time and am very glad to see it finally released. I am really loving the Onslaught maps and the Scorpion. Great work guys and thanks again!!

The file was there yesterday ... I downloaded it ... and so did others ... I have no idea what happened or if Major did something or what ... that's why we need more mirrors. Major please address this issue ASAP.

Edit: The Zip file can be downloaded with no problems ... huh .. go figure ...

I'll address this issue this one time only ... READ the READMEFIRST FILE ... it tells you where all the files go ... and you can easily organize the files by clicking one on "TYPE" for both Winzip and WinRAR if that is what is confusing you. Now they will all be nicely grouped together. Then simply highlight a group of files and drag and drop in the correct folders (as outlined by the readme). Honestly I can't see what is so difficult about that if you know windows and winzip at all. Maybe someone can make a UMOD for this ... I wouldn't mind that at all. I do hope you enjoy the CXP and thanks for taking the time to download it.

                  Additional Mirrors

I'm just waiting for the uploads to finish to Mapraider's three mirrors and we'll have additional downloads for you all. We'll also have both a BitTorrent tracker and Gnutella P2P links as well.

Thanks man ... much appreciated. Also if someone else who is hosting this wants to redo the archives and add directory structures to make the install easier for some peole then that is fine with me just let me be the first to download it to make sure everything is in order.

If you do'nt mind I'll wait until there is a download up with everything sorted into folders. People tend to get irritated if they have to manually extract everything

Well it is a problem for me. I am not going to install this mod when the download folder is in such a mess. I will tell you why. 1: it shows to me that they rushed the final product, not the mod just the finishing part. 2: if you rushed at the end it makes me wonder what else your team rushed. 3: I am not lazy just not willing to go through all the installing to find out it has ruined my ut2004.

Yes I know I can reinstall but I have a lot of stuff connected to ut2004 that’s not so easy to reinstall.
