    CTF-Sandstorm

    Hi, all. I've got another map. If you played my DM-INV-Sandstorm, you'll recognize some of it.

    A fairly simple and large CTF map. It's meant for low grav but can be fun with normal grav too; it's just a bit slow. Originally based on my invasion map DM-INV-Sandstorm (same pyramid and skybox). Hope you like it.

    Since different sites allow for different size screenshots, the zip files are different, so don't try to grab it from multiple sites simultaneously.

    (I've also submitted it to nalicity but the d/l link isn't ready yet)

    There are more pics in the thread linked above that show the pyramid, which hasn't changed that much.

          Where does it say that? It shouldn't say beta anywhere on the final version. Btw, I just played it online for the first time. It's so cool playing my map on a pub . . . even if the server was half way across the globe and I had a 250+ ping .

          Well, I was happy with it so I didn't go through the public testing phase this time, and it's already released. However, I'm always open to input. If nothing else, it may help me with my next map.

            Played a long game of Invasion on your pyramid map yesterday.
            It was pretty fun and well balanced (Instagib though )
            One thing I noticed is the monsters seemed to only spawn from 2 of the 4 sides.

              Ya, I noticed they like to pick 2 sides to come from, but they're not always the same sides. I think it must be something to do with Epic's search algorithm and node numbering. Glad you liked it. :up:

                Hmm, Id check it out if only for the name but if its low grav probably not woth my time given what i like to play

                  Ya, nice name. lol. You can play it normal grav; it's just that you'll probably think it's too big. However, I've seen people play AcidPipeXL and the other XL maps in that pack with normal grav, and it's not as big as that. At least there's plenty of room to boostdodge .

                        Ok. I was going to say b4, that you should have changed the atmospher more with the new map. IMO you sould have increased the sand fog to reduce visability so you could only see half the map at most, at any given time. You should have also made it feel more like night time, after watching the war news a sand storme makes things pitch black like night. And so ppl could see, you would have needed to place outside torches to lite paths to the bases, exc. And the entrences to the pyramid and base should have had sand colected in the corlers of the main entences, to make it look like sand had blown in.

                          Sounds cool. That would have been a neat atmosphere, but maybe not as playable. For instance, now there's a fight for the top of the pyramid because you can snipe into both bases from there. If you couldn't see very well into the bases, the top would lose its importance. Anyway, I've got sandstorms out of my system now . My next map (when I have time) will be an indoors CTF map along the lines of Geothermal or Chrome, though not the factory look. Need to wait for inspiration to strike . . .
