    Super Smash Mutator! (Try it out!)

    Hey everyone,

    I'm just here to **** a nifty little mutator i worked up. I hope you all enjoy it.

    It's called Super Smash Tournament, and it gives your weapons some extra punch. When a player gets damaged by a weapon, the impact can send them flying. Healthy players don't get knocked too far, but weaker players may sail clear across the map.
    It's great on levels like DM-Plunge and DM-Inferno, because you can send your enemies flying into lava or outer space.

    I also included a link to wormbo's "Who Pushed Me? 2k3" Mutator, which gives you points when you knock someone to their deaths, instead of giving them a suicide penalty.
    This way you can score by sending them flying into oblivion.

    The files total only 20kb combined.

          This sounds like it would be way cool with slo-mo corpses. I can just see Matrix like kills where you shoot the guy, and have him to flying in slo-mo in that "dodge this" kind of manner.

                This is a lot of fun. Good to play on Morpheus remakes
                But I've got a couple suggestions.

                1) There seems to be a sharp "breaking point" between hardly being knocked back and flying into oblivion. In Smash Brothers it was a smooth transition. I think it would work better to not have this big jump in knockback.

                2) Since you get hurt by flying extremely fast, it would be cool to have weapons not actually taking off your life but increase a damage percentage like in SSB. That way you need to focus on knocking people around to kill them.

                  Yeah, I might tweak the values a bit before my next release of this.

                  Hehe, you already guessed my next step. Yeah, if i get enough of a response that i feel its worth continuing this mutator, I'm planning on implementing that kind of 'damage goes up' system as an option. I'm gonna also implement functionality similar to wormbo's mutator into Super Smash Tournament, that way you don't need two downloads and two mutators to have the full effect.

                  I'm also going to probly make some maps filled with places to fall designed with this mutator in mind. I've already put together one pretty quickly.

                        Make a simple industrial map (square) with a laser grid on all sides, and a funnel for all the gibs under the playing field.

                        Or a simple lava room with a platform hovering in the centre. Like the Brinstar Core.

                        Then a stadium with changing floor (pokemon stadium ripoff).

                        The start movie stadium (modified)

                        So many ideas.

                          I believe this is an excellent mod, and has extreme potential.

                          If anyone is a mapper and has spare time, it would be great to see some more maps similar to Plunge, ect.

                          Have you guys tried playing this with tons of bots in Plunge using only the Shield Gun.......weeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

                          My suggestions:

                          I also agree on adjusting the levels of impact; make the distribution more continuous.

                          Also, instead of having like, have a defence percentage, like in Smash Brothers.

                          all we need are some Nintendo character skins.............
                          I got dibs of DK!!!!!

                            Hey guys, again thanks for the input, i think ill soon release an updated version with tweaked values for the damage/push ratio.

                            And in a later version, i plan on implementing a damage percentage a la SSB just as you all have said.

                            With the great reception this has gotten I may even work this into a full blown mod down the line (new weapons, models, maps specifically for Super Smash Tournament)

                            I've also got something i didn't initially post because i'm definitely a novice mapper, but considering the positive response i thought maybe some of you might enjoy this.

                            So here is a map that i whipped up specifically with this mutator in mind. I'm planning on creating a lot more down the line. This one's as basic as they come, but still pretty fun.

                            Speaking of that, I've got 3 models i made in 3ds Max for the original UT but never released, a Goomba, a Babomb, and a Toad model. Maybe ill spruce 'em up, animate them, and release them for ut23k
