The only other mapping I have done was for DOOM and Duke Nukem 3D!

The map is nearly finished. I need to add a few lighting tweaks, more Pickups, and all the Path Nodes for bots.

I've basically taught myself UnrealEd v.3 as I've built this map. What do you guys think?

-- are all the floors metal ? that gets annoying after a while. the metal foot steps .

when will it be ready ?
will you be needing a beta test ?

The basic brush layout looks like the buzz3d mapediting tutorial Nothing bad with that, keep up the work ! =)

That's maybe because I learnt UnrealEd using the VTMs from 3dBuzz!

But I have changed the design more to my personal tastes. Yes, the basic BSP work is similar to that of 3DBuzz's design, but I have changed a lot of things in the design.

I'm not sure when it will be ready. I've got some fine tuning to do, and a lot of zoning, because it drops to about 35fps in some places.

All the Bot Paths need placing, and yes, I probably will need someone to Beta test it for me.

          I'll let you know.

just a suggestion use the [img] tag next time you post screenies unless you want pezman to scream really, really, loud (and give you a couple warning points, if your lucky)

very....brown. needs...color. you say you mapped for doom, and duke3d. it shows. brown, brown, and more brown. oh, with some accented brown. brown = quake, doom, and duke. put some COLOR in it. just a suggestion, of course, its your map, and i like hte layout, but it needs color.

let me elaborate, if you will. a funny thing, light is. it will turn a brown texture into a colored texture, lol. i say throw in some green lights, to give some flare to the map. maybe some red coronas on the machinery, to give it a "live" feel to it. but wihtout color, i certianly wouldnt play it. it just needs something to make it interesting, otherwise its gonna look like quake, which is hideous, imo.

                    Looks good

Could do with a few more colours, to make it a little more different.

Layout looks good and it reminds me of the original ut style.

How many players can it hold?

Seems like a mix between Liandri and the 3dbuzz tutorial
                      But neat none the less

Looking good. Hope it flows better then "DM-Ray's-Buzz" map though.

I agree that it needs more colour. I am in fact working on that now, and like the idea of a few greens and reds to brighten it up a bit.

I am aiming for this map to be for a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 players.

It doesn't really look very spacious from those shots, but it is when you are playing. I'm just getting a feel for the scale of things in UnrealEd.

Thanks for the comments! Keep them coming!

ok people, I need your help here.

I've come up with 2 names for my new map, but can't decide which one to use:

                            DM-IronShockTower
                            DM-IronSmashTower

Any thoughts? If you have a better suggestion than either of those names, please let me know.

The hardest part of building any map is naming it!

Neither of those names imo. (too long)
                              Something like:

                              Monolith
                              IronOxide
                              Multiply
