    DM-Prinsenmeer (beta)

    Name: DM-Prinsenmeer
    Version: 0.5
    Compatibility: UT2004
Description: This level is an excisting subtropical paradise.
I have gotten permisson from the management there to use their logo and to build the swimmingpool in unreal. I am trying to make it an exact copy but thats harder then I thought :P
the level is still far from ready. botpads and weapon have to be places. For some parts of the level I still have to make textures. all rooms will be more filled with eye candy and rooms will be added (3-4 rooms) Lighting also needs some work.

      Dude, that's AWESOME!!!

I'm at work now, so I can't DL it, but here are a few suggestions.

Any way to add a bit of fog hanging low (not filling the room) so that it just kind of rests over the water?

      Maybe an ice cream stand?

How about some areas in the water with raised flower/plant sections?

MORE PLANTS. (This is my suggestion for just about every map in existance).

Maybe a bit of work on the textures. I can't tell for sure right now, but they look sort of tacky.

      In the First Shot:
I like the outdoors, it looks really bleak in comparison, as if no one would want to be anywhere but here. However, as a tropical theme the windows either need to be blocked by plants, or have nice looking plants outside them to keep up the ambience. The skylight is nice too.

      Second Shot:
The textures in this shot look good. I also like the water pipe in the back. (But it does bring to mind a waterslide, though that may be asking too much). That little circular outhang is just the spot for more plants, if you ask me. just put a little indent in the top where there can be dirt and plants. The bridges/stairs look good, like you find at public pools.

      Third Shot:
This is the shot with the wiggy textures. The yellow and blue look a bit messy, but as I say I can't tell for sure until I play it. The surrounding rock/plant formation looks really good, I'd suggest more of that in the other room. The wall textures look great. The windows look bad again, with only small clumps of grass outside though.

This is the kind of feedback I prefer.

About that fog, maybe... ill test it out to see what the effect is.

Outdoors is just temporary, so is the lighting. it was only to give the map a more "open" look. Next weekend im going to Prinsenmeer so I can refresh my memory for the outdoors.

The beach bar (the stand with the health vile's is the icecreamstand. Just needs some work. Again.. I have to recall how it looked. Dont want to fill it to mutch.

there will be a raised swimmingpool (for the little kids :P) it will be placed where the 2 water stairs are.

Your lucky, there will be more plants.. loads of more plants. Just need to finish more of the level before I place them.

The textures for that small pool have to be made. im still working on it. again... I need to refresh my memory. They also are not perfecty aligned. Thats why it looks "strange"

        Tnx for the feedback,

        greetz,

        zedero.
(more feedback is always nice.. :P:P)

          A Waterslide!!!!

I don't suppose there's any way to make the waterslide be in the visible part of the level. Those holes in the staircase were probably meant to be part of it, right?

Anyway, I think that as it is the water slide is starts at the top, then 270 degrees later you are deposited in the pool, so the water slide should probably turn you 270 degrees, instead of being a straight slide. Nice work though, I don't know how you got it to move you along like that.

*I was wrong about the textures, they all look great in game.

*More plants (but then you already verified this).

*No diving boards? It's cool anyway.

*The outside looks bad, but again you said this was going to change. It looks like you are on top of a mountain.

So this is a real place? I just thought you modelled it after many resort pools. The ones I've been too all had a ton of plants, so I imagine this one did too. Looks good, but I'm sure it will look better!

No diving boards are to come. Just haven't thought about them yet. Tnx.

You move true the tube by a volume I made. Its a water volume that boost you to a spefic direction. I just need to tweak it that you can go around the cornor. But that has the last priority. It was only to make the pool more fun :P:P
The holes in the staircase aren't for the waterslide. They are just there in the pool. Dunno why... but at least it makes the staircase less boring.
