    CTF-Infidels (WIP Beta + Screenshots)

    Okay, so the day that the FlagPack2004 came out, I got all inspired, and began my second map, by the name of CTF-Infidels. However, by now it uses plenty of meshes from the FP2004 (as maps themselves are a more consistent and preferable form of mesh packaging than the one Epic has going on), some of which are retail, some of which are not; I've got to get permission to release this, if I ever do.

    Here's the red flagbase, and the half-done middle area.

    Of course you should continue.

    It looks good but in order to make sugestions I would really need to see more. Perhaps the middleground layout would be an idea to incite suggestions or feedback..

      Okay, well... I've begun work on the middle. There's not much of one, but it all works well for connectivity and whatnot.

      Okay, see the box with the lines in it? Those are stairs (and more on the opposite side.)

      The two small dots on either side of the tower in progress? Those are 25hp. The 5 small dots on either side of the thingy are vials.

      The door through the tower goes into a small area with the 100a.

      The scribbly lines on either side parallel with the lines of vials are doors on the sides of the platform the tower's on, and they connect into a big underground room with the DD in it, and maybe two 25hp, or some vials or something.

      The thingy up high on the wall, with the arrow? (It will be on the opposite wall too) That's a platform, with two doors. One door goes to a upper flagroute to red, while the other door goes to the mirroring flagroute to blue.

      Remember, these are all ideas, and they could be VASTLY changed. I plan to do alot of clantesting with this once it reaches beta status, and after that, maybe a public release or two, to eliminate all of the bugs, and possible changes in flow and placement. If the public betas yield changes in flow and placement, back to clantesting it goes, before a final public beta for bug testing only. If not, it goes final. :>

        Sounds like a plan...

        I think testing is vital so get all you can. I will help if needs be

        Does look good and solid, get the connectivity right and the visuals and it could be great. I love community CTF maps, make this on a keeper Virax

          Ive found that people dont like dark ctf maps
          If they like your lighting it must mean they just dont like me...

            First impression: too much red! Get rid of that red flag in the middle of pic 3.

            Second impression: get rid of that silly statue... It looks that it wasn't part of the map in pic2, but became it in pic3. I like it though, how you opened up the tower, it would be a great sniper place for defenders, with a bit lovered platform.

            Third impression: reminds me of CTFX-1's dm-thorshammer. It wasn't a good map, but the looks had potential. You should use curved surfaces (properly textured and lit) as much as possible, and it would be a very quakish map! :up:

              2. Well, the statue wasn't in pic2, because of the angle. If you really look, you can see part of it, where the top of the giant pillar is not a straight edge. Shall I still remove it?

              3. I don't believe I've seen his map, but I was going for a curvy architecture. I also think it's looking quite quakeish, though I hadn't planned for it initially.

                    Ah, that does look kinda similar, though I think mine will be vastly different when it comes to lighting, and of course, gameplay. :>
