    excessive is so fun... Thanks for making it.

    regarding the sounds, is the sound I was referring to, is that a hit sound. Now that I think of it, I think it only happens when I'm taking fire.

      I believe the sound is your hit sound. I know what ur talking about.. drove me nuts trying to figure it out first time I played. Took my an hour to get it down, noticing I was being hit or I was hitting my teammate made me presume it was a mod addon, and on my setup, sounds just a wee bit louder then normal hit sounds. Wife knows when Im playing EO on my server, I get the 'eye' for being a bit too loud for her

        If you hear sounds when you are being hit, I think it is a sound by epic for your armor being worn off.

        And I added the hitsounds, because sometimes you just need a little verification you are hittings someone through a cloud of smoke. And the team hit sounds come very near to annoying, as if to tell you to STOP FIRING!

        There is a hitsound volume slider bar in the configuration menu of excessive.

          lol.. I use dedicated server package, not so easy to implement a volume change

            All of the configuration settings available in the mutator config menu are in ExcessiveConfig.ini

            look for this line
            [Excessive.ExcessiveRules]
            hitSoundVolume=0.750000


            That is the default setting. A setting from 0=off to 1=full are acceptable settings

                Hey Mad, I have another question about wep sounds. I played several maps against a player [Clark K, you know who] who uses teh minigun alot. On me. I could never hear myself getting shot, and Tested, using all the available sound options. I have 640MB ddr, and an audigy1 soundcard. [1.47amdxp] Like I said, I tried software and also hardware + eax options. [32 channels of sound , default]

                COudl it just be that since we played large [ really large] ctf maps I just didn't hear ? Clark said he could hear everything. I was thinking that since so much sound is going on,maybe the engine just shuts some off. I would like to know when I am getting hit ,though since there is usually alot distracting you in an EO game. I was using headphones , no music, then tried it with surround sound [ sweet].

                Late last night the same thing happened ,to me but this time I was getting shot with link primary [ stream] and didn't know about it unless I noticed my health meter. It was an open mid -sized map.

                In other news my server still isnt fully Eo'ed yet, but I'll post the ip if Ilan ever fixes it. ggs.:bulb:

                    Yeah , I guess since i have been playing IG for so long I am not familiar with reg weapons little quirks.
                    I thought you could hear someone making you into swiss cheese with the minigun. it was liek he had silencers on it , my health just disapeared ,I was like ..HUH?O_O

                      Yes, that seems to be the weapon of choice. When I see someone only using it, I kill them with every other weapon to show them that there are better uses for each weapon. The minigun is a very useful overall weapon. But each has its own advantages.

                      I leave it to you to find them out.

                      My first hint for defense on the minigun, is learn to jump out of there with a weapon (ShieldJumping will get you out fast), or translocate to get a better advantage. I guarantee you that point blank, the mini is not the best weapon. And from a distance the mini is not the best weapon. In low grav, I have seen it abused somewhat, but a sniper headshot is an instant kill also.

                        THX , clark was always a minigun nut from previous Eo days, I tend to have better results with the link for mid range and flak for get away when I am close , rockets to just get around. I always try to show the opposition when they are overdoing it with one type, also. My favortie- is the way you set up the shock ball so that you can ignite the other guys' spam attack, that has stopped a few from overdoing it, for sure..


                        I always love firing a single shock ball and waiting a sec from around a corner when i am getting chased, then igniting it in the face of the chaser . [ guy probably went O_OHUH?]


                        < How do you like the lightning gun now? I have heard alot of people who want it more powerful , since no one usually stays still in an excessive match for a more than a few seconds. Real tough for headshots against campers. I have only played at ctf metropolis by the way.

                          The Lightning gun has given me nothing but problems due to epics coding of the effects. I have done the best I can at this point with it, as soon as epic fixes their code so that the lightning is not drawn if you can't see it, I can do more with it. It seems that you can see every lightning shot eventually, once you have entered teh room where it was shot, and by that time, the guy who actually shot the lightning is no longer there. In other words....it kills fps especially on maps like TokarraForest where you can see the entire map.

                          I was playing with a guy who was ruling with head shots...and he wasn't camping...he was jumping around as much as me. So, in time, I expect that more ppl will get that skill wired. If it is not a headshot, 3-4 hits will kill. Which if you hit 3-4 in a row, it takes about the same amount of time to kill as with the other weapons.

                            I just played a few maps with mod or mutator, whatever it is.
                            But it is the most insane thing I have ever played.
                            I kept switching from one weapon to the next only to realize each one was more insane than the next.
                            Awesome deal guys, try this if you havent already.
                            Love the goop gun globs that are bigger than a house

                              Make sure to read the readme. It gives a lot of tips on how to use the weapons and extra adrenaline combos.

                              There is a typo for the Suicide combo, but I'll leave it to you to figure it out
