    i have been working on an AH/64d longbow apache for a while.

    this is after Wicked worked on it and did a great job. i have the code down mostly just need a UVer and texture guy.

    ignore the Blades there not there just stuck on to test code.

      Is there a way to replace a mesh with another mesh? Or hide one object and display another?

      What I'm thinking is: Could we have the blades be solid individual objects on the ground, before you hop in. Then, when you jump inside, can we swap the mesh of the blades out for a simple disc with a semi-transparent, blurred texture of blades in motion?

      The rotation code that you have now would then be applied to that disc.

          I think the manta's just got an animated texture (correct me if I'm wrong). What Big Cheese has done is create an actual rotor rotation script that modulates the rotational rate of the rotor based on your forward speed. It looks and works great.

              Looks cool. The rotor/disk thing sounds alright, just have the two sepperate then attach the right one to a bone on top depending on whats happening.

                    Relax - this is an unfinished model. Still missing a tailrotor, windshield, pylons for hellfires, the chin turret, etc. All coming shortly. Rotor blades will of course match the actual aircraft - as BC stated, these are just on there to test his code.

                              i am going to keep the rotor code and 1 mesh. i am going to add where if a blade falls off it screws up your movment and takes a lot of damage. would also be cool to chang the HUD to show witch 1 you broke...

                              Rest of you- thanks for replys. just want to know (other than rotors) if there is any thing that needs work. and here are my planes for the guns

                              Driver- mini gun and chaff.
                              pasenger- HellFire and The other thing...

                              The chaff can be deployed and will atract ARLVS(stingers) and any thing else that homes and when hit the thins will go BOOM.

                              so what ya think?
