    Gears of War Voice Pack

    Hello Everyone.
When I've installed ut2004 two weeks ago I've started to browse custom content in the net I was surprised a little that no one ever made (at least, as far as I'm concern - didn't found it anywhere by google) GoW voicepack. On the other hand, I've found the UT2K4VoicePackager and I've decided to try it out. The work was quite entertaining, and here are the results:

    http://www.filefront.com/17794771/GoW_voicePack.rar

    GoW voice packs includes:
Marcus voice, Dom voice and one extra voice (not from GoW)
In total, voicepack contain over 200 hundred unique sounds

If someone wants, I can send them all the sounds as wav files (if they need them for other projects etc. etc.)

Well, I hope that you will enjoy it, more voices coming soon, not necessary from GoW characters (so the voicepack's name can change)

Nice work. Goes well with the GOW models by Yourpackage.
It could be a tiny little bit louder but it's okay.

Well, thanks. I also noticed that some sounds (Marcus) aren't enough loud, but well, I've just started to experiment with making voicepacks. And, of course, this is still beta. Its somehow painful though, that my Vista is really messed up, I can't record any sounds that are played directly on PC (like in game) which forces me to put microphone 1 cm from loudspeakers (tried many ways to fix those problems, but still no clue) - this adds also "removing static" to my work.

If you have some ideas about adding new voices or changing the current ones, please let me know, however I don't have much time lately, so It wont be done soon

Since GOW uses the UT3's Engine (or similar) you can download a program called oggextract.exe. Go to My Computer>C:. There create a folder called "OGGEXTRACT" put the .exe file you downloaded there. Then go to your GOW installation folder and look for a file that would have the sounds from what you want (since I don't have GOW I don't know the files name) adn COPY (NOTE: DO NOT MOVE, JUST COPY) the file that has the sounds to the folder you created called "Folder". After all this press winlogo+R (Execute window opens) and type cmd.exe. IN the black box that happears you will write this:
          Code:
          cd C:\Folder
and press Enter. then just type
          Code:
          oggextract SOUNDSFILENAME.THEFILEEXTENSION
were it says SOUNDSFILENAME you write the name of the file, and were it says THEFILEEXTENSION you write the extension f the file (for example a zip archie ends in .zip).

If the game uses .ogg for voices you only need to name the sound files and import them. but if it needs the .wav format you donload AbleMP3 and you converte them

Well, it works, but I'm not sure that's a faster way to do it than my previous scheme... It adds some more problems like finding the names of the files + converting them... nevertheless the program will be helpful for sure in some cases

By the way, anyone knows how to make a species file? Sounds of jumping, being hit and death screams for bots etc. etc.? I wasn't able to find any topic about it.

Well, the code itself will help, however I need to restate my question now:
How to create something like sound group (for example, in that code, : MaleSoundGroup="XGame.xEgyptMaleSoundGroup") so I can use it while creating new species to add to the bots custom pain, jump and death sounds?

Oh well, I wasn't here for a while, but I have some good news. Due to having once again some free time I decided to make some new voices^^.
                      Here are the samples:

                      http://www.speedyshare.com/files/294...es_Samples.rar

This package contains 5 samples of 8 different voices each. Some are remakes, some are modded and some are just imported from different games. There will be more

And a little note: please don't upload my stuff to other sites without asking me, ok? GoW voices weren't finished at the time they were uploaded to UtZone by someone. Thats why I am giving out only samples, not actual voice packages today. I will release them when I will finish all of them, it will be a really big package probably (maybe even abut 20 voices)

I hope the next release will fix that as at a lower sound volume it is impossible to hear them.It sounds like they not playing at all. Also the marcus voice pack doesn't have an voice clip option for the defend base order when playing AS,VCTF,BR and ONS maps so you can't order the bots to guard the base.
