    Bloody axe! :)

Here's a pic of the axe (Bloody thing took me 8 hours to do lol, it's just a stick and metal!! (170 polys) I've got some more for the weekend update. Comments/suggestion on the skin?

Thanks guys!!! I'm gonna see if I can get rid of that mirror effect (since it's really split in two to make skinning easier) Anyone have an easy way around it?

The Blade and skin look rather good, but the haft could use a little work. It looks different than most other hafts on that are on modern axes.

Check out the botten part of the haft on this reference to see what I mean.

It's no big deal really, but it would probably make the model look a bit more realistic.

IF you are talking about the seam after you mirror, If you are using max select the middle verts (ones at the seam) it'l look like one but there are actually 2, then weld them one by one until they are all welded. In Maya just select all the middle verts and be careful not to select any other ones, and do a poly merge with a tolerance distance of 0.1. That should weld them. In lightwave just do merge. BTW good model and texturing. I only have one suggestion. Since this thing is only 174 poly's I'm sure you could use some more on the metal part of the axe. I mean if you brought it up to 200 poly's it wouldn't make much of a difference in UT2k3 or even UT at all.

It IS based off a real axe. It's sitting in my garage.

That should so so replace the sheild gun. Make it throwable, also make it possible to pick up 2 axes at once.

Other then that, its great! Cant wait.
