    Real Pauser 2003

    Ok... hoping that nobody has already realized a mutator that automatic pause the game during a CW on player/s drops.
    Why? Because this is my last work
    Yes... a mutator that automatic pause the game when a players disconnect from the server. It's not the normal UT2003 pause but a completely new pause ^^...where all players/bot in game stops and where the game time stops in the server but also in all clients.
    More... the game will be automatically resumed, after a countdown, when all players are in the server again.

    It's possible to manually restart the game... for example in case the game must have to continue with a smaller number of players... and is also possible to pause manually the game.

    All the features of this mutator are configurable via a .INI file or, better, directly in-game using some very simple mutator commands.

    More options/features will be implemented soon... but now i need some feedback. So... anyone who had ideas for new features or anyone who want to say something about this work can do it here (better) or privately to me.

    Here is a stupid screenshot... so i can show you something ...

    ...real pause in action... what's shown? Nothing ... you can only see the text message and the external view of your pawn ^^

    Anyway... soon i could leave a link for download the alpha version of this mutator but now i can only leave a link to the README file.

    Nice! Do you think it would be possible to work this one into TTM? I think they would be very interested in a mut like this as many have asked for them to include a function like this in their own mutator

      would it be an idea to maybe have the option of having a kinda vote on if play should continue or not?? that way if some one does disconnect - we can decide if we want to wait - and more importantly, the disconnected players team can force everyone to wait or play on.

      It is just an idea!

      Also!! Could we have a way (maybe in an ini file) to specify players names that will not cause the game to pause if they fall off??? - handy if we know someone drops off often.

          I think there are no problems to implement this kind of option and probably i'll do it... but also must be implemented a configurable max number of disconnections per team to avoid tactical drops

          mhhh... i must think about this... it's not so easy... there are so many programming aspect to take care to implement a such thing.


          About TTM... well... i think there are no programming problems to implement my mutator on TTM... anyway... i do not think a so good idea to do this now... because i don't want to bring to death this mutator so fast
          Let me publish it first ^^

            Bring death to it?? It would make it live more than ever! just make it like TWM, included with TTM but a separate mut

              Ok... added two new features and, consenquently, two new commands.

              The first command give the ability to enable/disable the possibility to resume the game when all players in the server are ready (Right mouse Click or Left mouse Click)... like "tournament mode".
              Is also possible to see, via F1, who are ready and who are not.
              This give also the ability to resume the game even if some players are not in the server. Doing so, the MAXPLAYERS parameter will be resetting to the current number of players.
              This also let both team to decide how much pause the game and to restart the game without admin logged in.

              The second command enable/disable the auto resume of the game when all players are come back in the server.


              Next action... i'm implementing a timer that will be visible on all clients and will be usefull to keep how much time the server is pausing.

                  ok... implemented a timer visible on all clients that keep the elapsed pause time.
                  ...and also implemented a new feature that auto increase the number of MaxPlayers when new players enter the game. Useful when the game, after a pause, continue without a player and so, when this player come back again in the server, the MaxPlayers parameter will be increased again.

                  So... two new commands are been added.

                  File README updated


                  In the meanwhile a version 1.0 of the mutator has been released on our IRC channel #fh.it.
                  To download the zip file, the command !GET 4 must be queryed to our Q bot.

                  Anyway... other downloading links are coming soon.
