    My friends & I play this map at our LAN parties and have a great time.

    The bots get a little stupid when it comes to using the tubes, but they do their job. I'll be working on making them smarter.

    I'd recommend not running any mutators like quadjump or low-grav. I spent quite some time trying to get it's physics like the original.

    For some odd reason the .zip is called HALL of giants not HELL. It won't effect install though.

    Any constructive feedback is welcome! Enjoy!

    I realize that it's a remake and probably a bit outdated....but are there any takers?

      I know its hell and all that but that red is just wrong it looks to dark compared to the fire red. Also what’s with the colour change between red base and blue? worst mistake ever in my view. Us other indicators but not the colour change that’s just horrible.

        I thought it was great. I had the Arkon Weapons thing on (again :P) and it was good fun. The bots handled the chute fine, even used it tactically at times. I had fun playing it, nice one

          Thanks. I'll take a look at the colors.

          Was it that bad ingame?

          Do you have any recommendations for a smoother transition in the color change?
          EDIT: Maybe some torn flags or banners instead of the lighting?
          I was thinking I could add some big torches near the flags to justify the colors.
          I just didn't want people to get confused as to what base they were at.

            Personally I don’t like any colour changed between the two bases. I would use a red colour all over even in the blue base but make the red less strong and more like inferno style. If you don’t use some type of red then you map would look silly due to the fact its hell so red must be used. You have to find the line between over use and just right. And yes use flags and different colour fires in certain spots as indicator to what base your actually in.

            Edit the 4 shot seems to look ok, the orange colour maybe use that instead of red.

              Maybe have both bases the same colour, but have lights giving off blue light in the blue base, and red in the red base?

                  You could replace the main red coulour with orange. That way, red can be conserved for the bases.

                    That map is NEVER outdated. If you add hooches high in the walls near the bases, then you've got a really fun map there. BTW. try replacing the floor with terrain: a dark, coal type texture.

                      I re-worked the bases with banners, etc. and have another idea that will help. But a good suggestion anyway Doyora. Thanks!

                      I kept the floors as grates.....but made a lava flow beneath it.

                          Download CTF_HallOfGiantsRudeFinal.zip (ut99/goty map). The author added some little caves above and to the side of the flags. It makes for nice sniper hoohces/perches. Added alot to the game. You come out of the tubes with the flag, and with enough momentum can make it up to the hooch and grab a redeemer, health up, and hide out/snipe. You're not so exposed in this map as a map bearer. And it addes more Z-action. Always wanted in a map!
