    GTCP-Loadingdocks 47 [pics][d/l]

This is a map from the GTCP which will be released by them in the future. The download here [beta 4.2] is for feedback purposes as I feel confident that it is practicaly finished and would like more opinions on how it plays.

    Name: DM-GTCP-Loadingdocks 47
    Players: 4-8
    Gametype: DM
    Authors: Doyora
Weapons: all base weapons, no supers.
    Bugs: none known yet.
Description: An offshore docking platform set above acidic (deadly) seas. Uses a few custom static meshes. fairly open play with wide platforms and jump oppurtunities.
Credits/thanks: Vince or whoever for initial idea. GTCP (former UTMP) team for feedback, ideas and stuff. Knightmare for his odd-jobbery. Hourences for some textures out of his HourIndusX texture package.

EDIT: I've had a play around and made it look better. now new beta (soon).

    http://www.savefile.com/files.php?fid=4162876 NOW BETA 5
    Screens:
now, up to date. from beta 4.3.

    enjoy:haha:

I like this map a lot. Only comment would be to maybe add a little color as the textures are pretty drab at this point. However, I know the level is meant to look rusted and old so I can live with the way it is right now. Good work overall.

Doyora! I didn't think we were going to release them till the maps were compeleted and tested fully back to back server wise. But I guess its ok.... The Testing was fun and me and Lopar had a blast with the ofc group beta testing it.

i havent downloaded the map yet, as my internet os kinda wonky right now, but by chance does it have a really tall crane that you can get on top of? every loading dock needs one, IMO. it should tall enough to pretty much see the whole map, and either have a sniper/lightning gun pickup for high sniping, or a deemer or other super weapon. it should, of course be open enough to deny people the chance to snipe camp, of course.

It does have two huge cranes, but they aren't designed to be climbed up, unfortunatley. There are other places to go instead for sniping though. However, If you put god mode on and sheildjump, you can sometimes manage to leap between peices of scenery to reach the top. It's pretty pointless however since the fog obscures most of the map from up there.

@Leonardo (J.P.) This is for a wider feedback audience, (not a release, it's still a beta) since there are many more people on this forum than there are on the UTMP one.

Looks good. I like the placement changes you made from the last one I played. Much more balanced now.

                          nope
the link above is to a .php file that redirects you to a php page that redirects you to a file.

                          I despise redirects
A direct link is like: www.domain.com/dir1/maps/mymap.zip

Is this right? When you click "download now" it begins to download (at least it does in firefox, I haven't tried IE yet since it is broken on my P.C.).

My point is that the links that that page provides, are redirect links. Which causes untold hassle for linux machines.
                              Redirects + wget == F*CKSAKENOTANOTHERF*CKINGREDIRECTSITE

                              ....

which is why unreal.ie provide direct links to files
