    Sorry to bump, but Beta 2 is nearing release, no date decided yet but beta 2 will feature new gametypes and the bugs that plagued beta 1 will be gone.

    The trip mine will also be making an apearance

    Listen why do we keep having to explain ourselves. UNFE is a BASIC version of Team fortress, beta 1 is our launch pad to making the game how the community want it, we have a wish list for beta 2 in our forum, if you want to see changes, that is where to ask for them.

    Just to let everyone know we have released a patch, withthe following fixes.

    As for dark maps, we are working on remakes of original UNF maps now we will take onboard your comments, also I can ask BIV to send me a day version of 2FortMX and we can add that to the next beta (which is going to have huge changes).

    1. Flame thrower flame has been corrected.
    2. Access nones cleared up for online play.
    3. Sentry can now see the spy in appropriate stages.
    4. Two new maps added, UNF-SniperWar and a public map by Kaboom called UNF-CTFSpitfire.
    5. Incoming menu now displays team and player information so that you can join a game and not un even the teams.
    6. Auto assign picks a team for you.
    7. Grenades are less 'bouncy'
    8. Some classes have had the maximum grenade amount cut down.


    We are also looking for some new people to join us for some work on UT2004 and UT2K7 Unrealfortress evolution.

    Coders
    Mappers
    Texture and skin artists
    Moddellers
    Animator
    Sound artist to make us beefy weapon sounds.

    Get the patch and get your asses on the servers :P.

    yeah that's how it's done...place whatever actor in the map for whatever gametype and it's that gametype

    As said above, there was no secondary fire for QWTF/TFC weapons. If you started messing with that you'd have a ton of balance issues to clean up.

    You didn't need seperate gametypes, map entities used to control the style of play. Not sure how it's done with UNFE but I'd be pleased to hear if they'd gotten rid of the gametype thing and let the maps control the gametypes again.

    because thats the way tfc was, if i remember right tfc didnt have very many alt-fire, usally it was only zoom.....

    yeah some of the maps are very low lit which is pretty much the opposite of tfc but it's still a fun mod to play...unf-walls is one of the better maps I think...for a first beta I was really impressed...so impressed that I bought a server for it

    From the gametype page:
    Push (working name)

    Based upon the famous map Push is a one flag gametype, however played with a football. The football start in the middle of the map and you must rush to grab it, then take it to the enemies goal area.
