Interview with Tim Sweeney from E3

I found this videointerview with Tim Sweeney from E3... the sound is a bit low but pretty interesting still... he says that a 6800 Ultra will be able to run UT2007 at decent quality, which is great... if it's true that is

Interviewer: "One more question ... R520 or G70?
      Sweeney: "hahaha- G70 for sure"

Sweeney butt kissin ps3 or nvidia or both?
Or is he being honest and G70 is superior for developers?

          most boring interview ever.

typical nerd: *grins evilly and taps fingertips together* "Will it support pixel shaders 2.0, g-hey?"

they could have at least found a freakin spot where they wouldn't be drowned out in crowd noise, sheesh.

a little to geeky for me.

I think I'll watch the PS3 demo again.

E3 floor, Tim was probably stuck at the booth.

I put my head between two speakers to hear what was being said.

Interestingly, he said the high-end graphics cards of next year will be 4 times more powerful. And they'll be able to run 1600x1200.

The minimum appears to be the 6200 although they say they might do software rendering to make it run with the GeForce 4 series. He said it's not beautiful but it works. (Although they were talking about pixel shader compatibility. Not sure what that means. :bulb: )

I don't intend to stay with the Ti4200 in 2007 but if they do add support for it and I wanted to try the demo with it, what does that mean? Does it mean it's going to look different? (It seems obvious but I couldn't make out every word.)

Interview about the engine only = boring as hell

                      I'm not a techy geek.

He could have asked him anything he wanted. And he talks about the engine.

Or maybe because Tim Sweeney isn't on the UT2k7 design team, and doesn't care about the little details you're all nitpicking over. UT2k7 is a flash in the pan compared to the fact that they have 20+ licenses of the engine to other companies.
