Playing with maps on cd/different drives

Ok, my primary hard drive is getting (reasonably) full and I don't want to install anything on my secondary, because I simply use it for files.

I have found the line in user.ini that says

../Maps/*ut2

What do I have to change this to to get it to look somewhere else? For example D:\Games\UT2004\Install\Maps\

Copy the line, but change it so it says D:\Games\UT2004\Install\Maps\*.ut2

Would not playing maps on a different drive (especially a CD drive) hurt that maps performance?

I think the map gets completely loaded into memory before play, so it would only hurt loading times.
