Hello
suppose you inserted a P element containing lacZ *somewhere* in a drasophila strain, as an enhancer trap
you know the sequence of the pelement
you know the drasophila genome sequence
how could you recover a clone of the dna flanking the p element?
after staining your fly larvae with xgal to see where genes are being turned on where your p element has landed.. how could you confirm that the gene you identified in your flanking dna was responsible for the expression of the enhancer trap?
and help would be appreciated
thanks
