    [OT] Lolek

(Lolek, that's how his parents are calling him right now)

    A new Saint for us.

Everyone who's not personally interested please excuse me. I need to remember him.

Karol Wojtyla, John Paul the II
("Juan Pablo segundo te quiere todo el mundo", sang the Spanish speaking world)

In the very minutes he was dying (though the actual newsbreak came later), I was toying with the following thought. Enjoy.

I tried to think about JPII as a UT2k4 player. It came very natural for me, 'cause I found an unusual way to convey how he was a multi-faceted figure.

Imagine all your life is a single UT match.

He was one of the greatest team leaders, helping his mates a lot and fighting with so many different enemies. He pwned.

Sometimes he refrained from attacking with too much strenght because FF in life is set at 20%, so he wanted to avoid hitting feeble fellas.

An athlete, was able to do many tricks jumping around the world in unexpected ways.

He was shot, but he respawned.
Many times you thought of him being at the end, but he respawned again and again, till now, when the match is over.
Even when near the end he became stuck in a static mesh, he still was able to hit hearts.

He was a master in using every available weapon in UT arsenal.

-At the beginning, when he wasn't famous nor powerful, he used his AR to score some remarkable frags in Poland. Events like his encounter with St. Pio da Pietralcina count as grenades.

Then he became one of the leet of the YeOleEarth Server.
-With the Flak Cannon we can remember his mysticism, a weapon able to hit something not in line of sight. Primary: the flak shards like the rosary beads, scattered to hit the Enemy wherever he tries to hide. Secondary: Totus tuus
-Minigun: his spreading the Word all around the world, with travels and speeches... a rain of holy projectiles.
-Shock Rifle: select hits and keenly orchestrated combos. He shocked. When he asked forgiveness for the sins of the sons of the Church, when he subverted schemes, when he visited a mosque, a synagogue...
-Grenade Launcher: his chef d'oeuvre, a masterpiece: being able to sport a Monster Kill with the most unusual weapon. His victory against Communism: starting with secret letters and maneuvers dating back to Jimmy Carter, he carefully organized a plan, and planted lots of grenades in Poland, then they detonated all of a sudden and boom! Solidarnosc won, Poland and the world was freed from Communism without bloodshed.
-Avril: he was not afraid of facing big vehicles, confronting the powers on foot, even alone sometimes.
-Sniper Rifle, Lightning Gun (sometimes he hit in a more visible way, sometimes we will better understand tomorrow): with a far reaching sight, he put important future objectives in his scope, like taking care of relationships with Islam, or his messages against the wars, his criticism on capitalism...
-Rocket Launcher: powerful hits, his encyclicals and books and documents, reaffirmed the strenght of the Gospel and their ethic principles.
-Link Gun: he dedicated much energy in building bridges, in linking people together, reaching even the farthest people, emphasizing christian unity and the need to work as one serving God.
-Bio Rifle: he fought for the Gospel of Life, defending humans in every occasion, from abortion to euthanasia, being a concerned teacher on the real basis of bioethics.
-Target Painter: as for the superweapon, he as an actor and a great communicator was able to master mass events and capture the media. The long exploding streak of the Target Painter may represent the step by step, touching, organized events like the 2000 Jubilee.
-Ion Cannon: a vast area flooded with his energy. This recalls events like the 5 million people gathered once in Manila, or the World Youth Days.
-Spider Mines: tiny nice independent weapons, guided by him in fighting the Good Battle. Think for example of the so-called Pope-boys, the masses of youngsters in special father-son contact with him till his last earthly day.
-Redeemer : on occasions, he used all his strenght and authority for one-time strikes, like when in Sicily he thundered with an irate voice against Mafia.
-Shield Gun: when the action came near to his body, he used primary with smiles, and secondary with tears. His impact hammer was humour. His tiny shield gun was a minimal defense, the showing of his sufferings to the world, being a humble, old, dying cross bearer.

A Holy Father. Truly holy and truly father.
Don't be afraid to be touched. Peace.
