Tracerlog how?

I have trouble with my connection sometimes lagging like hell. I contacted support with email and they want me to do a tracerlog to my gameserver.

I think I have an idea what this is but how do I do this?

Open the 'dos-box' (cmd.exe). One way to start it is click on WinXP Start button -> Execute and type cmd.exe (It's under utilities too, not sure how it is called in english, command line maybe.)
Then type: tracert ipoftheserver > nameofthelog.log
The log will be saved in the active directory ('dosbox')

Often referred to as 'Command Prompt' (that's what Windows is calling it on my comp here) but I still prefer 'dos-box'

Start > Run > cmd

Download the freeware version of Pingplotter. You can run traceroutes to anywhere you like and then save the data to a text file.
