    gaming on server systems...

    OK...question.

I have two options for a new system, and this will seem dumb, but I seriously want to know.

A: I can get an Athlon 64bit ~2.6 system, in the standard ATX Form.

    or

B: I can get a Dual Xeon 4+ Ghz system, in Server mount form.

    Which is better for gaming?
I'm familier with the ATX Form, and am thusly more comfortable with it, but will having a second processor on the board give me any extra boost?
Are there any problems running a server mount form for a home PC setup?

UT2004 doesn't take advantage of dual processors. So get the AMD64 bit one.

I run Windows 2000 Datacenter Server on one of my shuttle machines. It runs really well. 2.4GHz Athlon XP, 1GB DDR PC3400 RAM, Radeon 9800 Pro.

Too bad 2004 doesnt take advantage of multiple processors, huh? I was hoping the other 15 I install would give me an even further performance boost. </joke>

Seriously, though, 2000 Datacenter Server supports 16 processors... not that anyone cares. Oh, and yes, I did pay $16,000 for a single license on one of my home boxes. Nothing shady going on here. Keep walking.
