legacy-fiLa repliedwith a sblive card like audigy2 you even get more fps (after tomshardware) im not sure if it is true

legacy-kaTaToNiC aGonY repliedI have seen benchmarks where the Audigy 2 ZS made best results.
This card has the best performance and needed the lowest amount of CPU cycles.
Go for it !
Die, onboard-sound, Die !

legacy-Knobby repliedRight now I have a turtle beach catalina (big mistake) I lose about 10-15fps with eax. And I only get 40-30 fps to begin with. So lets say I get this sound card, will it make me have better preformance with EAX?

Let me rephrase it then.
EAX will not affect your framerate if you have a decent soundcard that handles all the processing properly. (I've checked this out by the way, I get no FPS change with or without EAX)
Anyway by judgeing your system specs, even a crappy sound card you wont lose that much fps if any at all

Wrong!!!
Depends how good quality the sound card is.
Crappy sounds cards(with eax support)can lose a great ammount of fps.

virax repliedEAX significantly hurts FPS on alot of computers, but it really depends on the system. Try it out and see if you notice a differnce. If you don't, then the difference isn't significant enough to matter. ;P

legacy-Zygar repliedProbably a problem with your soundcard. It sounds great for me.
