First. Saying I am a beta tester means I am a beta tester and not a programmer. So your point about driving and not being a mechanic is pointless. Mechanics don't call themselves drivers and drivers don't call themselves mechanics. I am a beta tester and all I am implying is that, I am a beta tester.
Quality feedback really can't be defined as it depends on the issue and what is needed to recreate the issue. Obviously the information needed to track a hardware issue isn't the same information needed for a protection fault or a memory allocation error.
I also in a previous post use the words semi public beta. I realize that giving a beta to every schmuck that has a computer is counter productive. But that doesn't counter the point that the more testers the better.
My first post in this thread was simply asking someone to PM me the link to the beta patch. That was it.
The line that gave some many people a wedgie was.
"You know the more people that test this patch the better it will be. I don't understand why you all are being so tight with the beta patch."
That is a simple truth and a fact for all beta testing. In the simplest terms. 2 testers are better than 1. If you can't understand that then you really do need to grow a brain cause the one you have is broken or not working. Perhaps an upgrade.

Then why didn't you ask for a private Message with the link, as the others did. Or better... ...susbscribe to the SeverAdmin list.
I did. Twice. Check pages 3 and 4 of this thread.

I would be willing to test that beta as well.

There is no measurement of quality over quantity because there is no way to measure quality of feedback. What you may feel is good feedback actually may not be to someone else.
Continuation...
This really shows what many of you actually know about beta testing.
Case in point. Many of the post in this thread have reported issues. None of them have given any instruction on how to recreate the issue. No system specs. Nothing. There is not one quality feedback in this thread and you all claim to know what it is. The FACT is that you don't know as much as you think. :weird:
Continuation...
I am a beta tester and have been for a number of years.
Continuation...
I simply asked for a link for the beta patch and offered a simple logical reason for someone to pass on the link. Many of you took offense to this and claimed that my logic is flawed. There is no flaw in my logic or my reasoning.

No, you can't make a supposition and assert it as fact. Nor are you gaining credibility by making personal attacks.
Assign a dollar value to process each bit of feedback to determine the value of it. Then come argue quantity vs quality again.

Here maybe this will help. I have made no personal attacks against anyone.
I have stated nothing but fact.

Some of you claim to be beta testers, yet none of you have brought these issues up.
Quality feedback consists of enough information for the programmer to recreate the issue. This allows him/her to properly identify the problem code or hardware issue.
I am a beta tester and have been for a number of years.
I simply asked for a link for the beta patch and offered a simple logical reason for someone to pass on the link. Many of you took offense to this and claimed that my logic is flawed. There is no flaw in my logic or my reasoning.

Shambler repliedIf nothing else serious pops up then it looks like this patch will be released in a couple days/a weeks time. (IIRC it usually takes a week as beta before a patch is public)
Future patches are not ruled out, it was said on the mailing lists that if enough issues arise another patch will be put into works.
However atm it doesn't look like any really small fine-touches will be made to the game, just things they warrent serious enough for fixing/warrent spending the time on.
That's the impression I get as there has been no shortage of those 'minute' bug reports on the mailing lists that didn't quite make it(I'm not complaining btw, this new patch is looking really really great)

NotoriousBIC repliedI just noticed that the Flak/Rockets flying past their targets in demo playback seems to be solved too. I'm not entirely sure until I check some other demos.
What I did notice however is that projectiles don't have the proper speed if the demo playback speed is adjusted.
Flaks/Rockets/ShockCores go much slower than the action in 1/4 speed (also in the other adjusted speeds, but less noticable)

legacy-MajikMyst repliedThe bottom line here is this.
Some of you want to feel like your all that and a bag of chips cause you can test the beta patch while others can't.
I offered to help test the patch and some of you flamed me for it.
I really don't care. I have enough beta projects to keep me busy.
You all should be ashamed for flaming someone that wants to help.
Perhaps you should upgrade your maturity level. I would be willing to test that beta as well.

legacy-MajikMyst repliedI never said give it to the general public.
Would you like a link for 'Hooked on Phonics'?
My argument still stands and nobody has even come close to proving otherwise.
Sure not everyone is going to respond and not everyone is going give useful information. Sure they may be cut from the beta. But the point of letting them join in the first place was to get more testers involved and more input. Which is my point.

Anybody know when it's coming out?

Every fix is better than nothing at all.
