        as far as i know an AGP card requires an AGP slot

          Don't double post this on 2 seperate forums.

          As I said in your other post, AGP 8x is not PCI Express, and no. PCI, AGP and PCI Express are not compatible with eachother.

            I once heard of a guy that forced an AGP card into a PCI slot, I remember thinking "what an idiot", hope that helps :up:

              Think of it like that little toy kids had when they were little

              The ball that had square holes and circle holes and triangle holes...and you could only fit peices though their own holes....same as computer cards, they go where they go.

                No, you cannot use a PCI-Express card in a standard PCI slot, nor vice-versa; and you cannot put an AGP card into a standard PCI slot, nor vice-versa. Cards and slots do not have cross-compatibility.

                  PCI cards don't go in PCI-Express slots, AGP also don't go in any other type of slot

                        think of Circles as : AGP cards
                        think of Squares as : PCI cards
                        think of Triangles as : PCI express cards..
